Me, Flora, and the Hunter team rushed towards the area where some elves were holding back the orcs.
"Is there still time..."
I thought about it and became very pessimistic. The time it took us to go to the location was one hour. Right now we had been running for thirty minutes.
By the way my body was able to endure this long. Have I undergone many changes in this world? I felt that it was very possible.
However, the elf in front suddenly stopped and shouted.
"THE ORC APPEARS!!!! EVERYONE, GET READY!!!"
Hearing that, everyone was immediately taken aback. I, who came to my senses, immediately took command.
"EVERYONE, PREPARE!!! SHIELD BEARERS, DOCK!!! SPEARMEN, STAND BY BEHIND THE SHIELD CARRIER!!! EXPLORATION TEAM, RETREAT!!!"
I ordered the troops immediately and they moved. We formed a convex defense towards the orcs. As the orcs began to count, I quickly counted their number.
(There are 7 orcs huh?)
We should be able to handle it. The turtle defense is very well used against enemies who charge straight ahead.
The retreating exploration troops immediately dodged the turtle defense. The orcs who saw that just smiled dismissively as if they thought our defense was pointless.
With their maces, they directly attacked the shield.
"Grrrraaaaaa"
"Raaaaaa"
"Grrrraaaaaa"
The mace struck the shield but what happened next was, the orc's hand shook and went numb. I who saw that immediately shouted.
"CHANCEEE!!! ATTACK, SPEAR TEAM!!!"
With my command, the spear was immediately aimed at the orc's heart. The unprepared orcs could only receive the spears without any defense. Supposedly, for orcs, a spear attack like this would not easily penetrate to the heart because of their tough skin and flesh.
But, what happened now was, the spear pierced through the orc's body like a skewer piercing through satay meat.
"Gaaaarrrrllll"
Three orcs screamed briefly and not long after, they fell down. The remaining four orcs instantly kept their distance from us and began to be cautious as the herd died.
I who saw that immediately thought that these orcs were actually not stupid and had some sense. Now their movements were different from before, they split the group into two. And walked to both sides of us. I who saw that also immediately asked the group to split into two to balance with the orcs' movement.
The orcs who saw that became annoyed that their movement was limited. Just as I thought they were about to give up, I heard a voice .....
"UNCLEEEE!!!!"
The voice made my heart almost jump out of my chest and I looked in the direction of the voice.
"RIKA!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!!!!"
It turned out to be Rika and Blacky. Shit! I told them to stay in the house instead. I wanted to teach naughty Rika a lesson right away but of course that wasn't possible right now.
One of the orcs who saw that smirked and headed straight for Rika. I, who was shocked, could not respond at that moment,
"Grawlll"
Blacky came forward and immediately pounced on the head of the orc just now. It happened so fast that all of us orcs couldn't even react.
"Blacky, good job!!!"
Balcky threw away the orc's head and headed straight for Rika. Rika stroked it gently then together with Blacky headed to me.
"Uncle, look at this. Blacky is great!"
I, who didn't respond to Rika's conversation, just knelt down suddenly and hugged Rika.
I felt a fear that I had never felt before.
"Thank God!!! Thank goodness!"
I can only be thankful that Rika is safe. I can't even scold Rika right now.
"Uncle, don't worry, Blacky is very strong and he can protect Rika"
"I understand, but you're still a child. In this world strength is not something absolute. Arrogance will backfire on you, do you understand Rika?"
I said that and Rika was currently bowed limply. She seemed to know what I meant.
"Forgive Rika, uncle."
I then nodded and turned to the remaining three orcs. They growled at us but didn't dare to come forward.
I then picked up my rifle. And aimed at the center orc.
"BAAAANGG!!!!"
The sound of the rifle boomed in the forest and suddenly the center orc had a hole in its head. The orc fell down and didn't know what happened to him.
"EVERYTHING!!!! SURROUND THE REMAINING TWO ORCS"
The elves immediately surrounded the remaining orcs and defeated them. The elves defeated them with great difficulty. Unlike how the first three fell, the two orcs this time were not caught off guard at all but what power because there were only two of them.
Rika who saw that became very excited. It seemed like this world made Rika develop a sense of combativeness. I should probably find out more details about people from other worlds.
This time I didn't forbid Rika from following us because I didn't want the incident of her running away from home to happen again. We then headed to the old location of the displaced elves to at least collect the corpses of the elves who sacrificed themselves.
As I expected, they had all died. But the strange thing was that when I and the others went there, their corpses were preserved intact and there were two cats in white and black sitting quietly as if guarding the corpses.
The cats, who saw us coming, were originally going to leave but when they saw Rika, they headed towards her instead.
Everyone initially wanted to protect Rika but I told them to stay put. Rika, who seemed to understand, headed straight for the two monsters.
After that, they looked at each other and suddenly Rika took out food from her play bag.
Err, did she think this was a picnic? How could she have brought food.
Rika then gave the food to the two cats. Without any resistance, they immediately ate the food she gave them. This meant that the two cats had surrendered themselves to Rika.
"Uncle, these two cats want to come with me. Is it okay?"
Rika asked for my permission.
"Of course, as long as you promise to take care of them, okay?"
Rika nodded happily and the two cats continued to rub their bodies on Rika's legs.
The remaining elves then carried the bodies of the dead elves to be buried immediately.
