Chapter 121 - Chapter 121: The Fear of Death

The Windchime Bird Spirit Master and the Ghost Leopard Spirit Master worked tirelessly in tandem, darting in to harass Yun Feng and then retreating. Even the Shi brothers, tasked with protecting Ye Lingling, occasionally joined in to disrupt Yun Feng's focus.

The Shi brothers activated their third spirit skill, causing their turtle shells to shatter into 32 fragments each. The fragments spun violently around them, creating a terrifying whirling shield of destruction. The sharp sound of the fragments slicing through the air distorted the surrounding space, resembling a massive meat grinder.

Positioned strategically apart, the Shi brothers maximized the range of their attack while avoiding harm to each other. Ye Lingling was also protected within this zone of destruction, and all six members of the Emperor Team glared coldly at Yun Feng.

Yun Feng smirked as he looked at the Shi brothers and remarked,

"Hey, do you really think I'd just stand here and let you hit me?"

In the stunned silence of the six, Yun Feng effortlessly activated his Ghostly Shadow Steps, weaving past the deadly fragments to appear beside Dugu Yan. His movements were so strange and unpredictable that Dugu Yan found herself unable to land a single attack. The Shi brothers, seeing Yun Feng near Dugu Yan, hesitated to approach, fearing they might harm her.

"You might as well surrender now," Yun Feng said, his tone light yet mocking. "You've been fighting for so long, and you haven't even touched my clothes. I haven't even used a single spirit skill."

Yun Feng wasn't hesitant because he couldn't finish them off; he simply had other priorities. After all, he still had plans for Dugu Bo's medicinal garden. If he shattered Dugu Yan's confidence completely, it could jeopardize his goal.

Dugu Yan, however, was growing increasingly frustrated by Yun Feng's persistent evasion. She snarled,

"Shut up, you pest! You're nothing but an annoying fly!"

Yun Feng stopped in his tracks, his expression growing cold as he asked,

"What did you just say?"

Seeing Yun Feng pause, Dugu Yan thought she'd managed to provoke him. Seizing the opportunity, she taunted him further,

"What's wrong? Did I hit a nerve, you little pest?"

Her tone was smug, and she even raised her eyebrows in mock satisfaction. However, Yun Feng's icy smile froze her in place. The mocking words had struck a chord, reminding Yun Feng of his past life. He had been an orphan then, just as he was in this world. While he didn't dwell on it, Dugu Yan's insults touched a nerve.

Yun Feng's smile turned cold, chillingly cold.

Sensing an opening, the Ghost Leopard Spirit Master, the Windchime Bird Spirit Master, and Dugu Yan all launched their attacks simultaneously. Dugu Yan activated her second spirit skill, Venomous Fang, sending a phantom snake's fangs lunging toward Yun Feng. Wind blades from above and the leopard's claws from behind all converged on Yun Feng.

The VIP spectators, including Xiao Wu and the others, shouted in alarm, their voices filled with worry. But Yun Feng paid no attention to their cries.

The attacks hit their mark—his shoulder, back, and chest—but the damage was far less than his opponents had expected. Despite the pain, Yun Feng stood tall. Wiping blood from the wound on his shoulder, he smirked at Dugu Yan, his smile sharp and dangerous.

Originally, Yun Feng had a soft spot for Dugu Yan, admiring her loyalty as depicted in the original story. But now, his patience had run out. He had no intention of holding back any longer.

Just as Dugu Yan and the others prepared for another round of attacks, Yun Feng made his move. Ignoring her verbal barbs, he unleashed his full spirit power. The sudden surge of energy sent out a shockwave, forcing the three attackers back several paces.

His four spirit rings shone brilliantly as Yun Feng began to float, lifted by wings that materialized behind him. His crimson dragon scales gleamed as flames coiled around his body. The sight stunned Dugu Yan, the Windchime Bird Spirit Master, the Ghost Leopard Spirit Master, Ye Lingling, and the Shi brothers.

For a moment, fear gripped the six of them. But the memory of Yun Feng breaking Yu Tianheng's arm reignited their determination.

Then, the true transformation began. The black ring glowed with an ancient, primal aura. As it did, Yun Feng's shirt disintegrated, revealing the intricate dragon scales on his chest. A massive Crimson Candle Dragon coiled behind him, its scales burning like fire and radiating an overwhelming brilliance.

The dragon's eyes were deep and penetrating, as if they could see through the fabric of reality. Its tail writhed in molten lava, creating waves of intense heat. Its towering horns resembled sharp swords piercing the heavens. Its muscular body exuded boundless power, while its regal presence was so overwhelming that it made those around it feel insignificant.

"What kind of martial spirit is this?!" gasped one of the nobles in the VIP section, their voice trembling with awe.

The Windchime Bird Spirit Master tried to interrupt Yun Feng's overwhelming display, diving toward him. But Yun Feng swatted him aside with a casual strike, leaving a deep, bloody gash across the bird spirit master's wing.

As the dragon's presence reached its peak, Yun Feng removed his mask, revealing a face that seemed carved by the heavens. His features were sharp and elegant, his eyes shining with the brilliance of stars. Even his bloodied lips added a touch of dangerous allure.

Dugu Yan recognized him instantly as the man she had seen in the lobby earlier. Ye Lingling, too, was briefly entranced. In the VIP seats, several nobles turned green with jealousy as their female companions gazed longingly at Yun Feng. Even Dou Dou, hovering above, forgot her duties as a commentator, staring at Yun Feng in awe.

The reaction was inevitable. This was the first time Yun Feng had unleashed his full spirit power, and combined with the dragon's oppressive might, it captured the attention of everyone present.

Dugu Yan soon realized something was wrong. The arena lights no longer reached the stage; they were completely blocked by the dragon's massive shadow. The overwhelming aura made the six remaining members of the Emperor Team feel suffocated.

Before they could react, an ancient and terrifying pressure descended upon them. Their bodies went limp, and their spirit power was completely suppressed. Panic filled their eyes as they struggled against the crushing weight of the aura.

At that moment, they all felt it—the undeniable fear o

f death. What was a spirit master without their spirit power?
