Chapter 102 - Chapter 102

The guilds operated differently from individuals.

Guilds typically purchased items at slightly lower prices but guaranteed a steady stream of buyers, ensuring that items rarely went unsold. Similarly, guild purchases came at higher prices than individual transactions.

Moreover, the infinite worlds of the multiverse often offered unique items that guilds didn't have in their stock.

For this reason, Lucien chose to buy his transfer certificates from individuals, but he came to the guilds primarily to sell his surplus items.

As humanity's largest guild, the Traveler's Guild was renowned for its expansive trading network.

It allowed any guild or merchant to conduct trade and purchase items through its forum.

This privilege might seem excessive, but the gap in power made it inevitable.

The Traveler's Guild, with its legacy of "Traveling Practitioners" passed down from ancient divine beings, was leagues ahead of other guilds. Competing guilds didn't even stand a chance.

Lucien visited a few smaller guilds and sold off some unwanted equipment, weapons, and transfer certificates.

The sales earned him a significant amount of Void Crystals.

By the time Lucien returned from the trading forum to the class-specific forum, his Void Crystal balance had exceeded 1.2 million!

"Is this what they mean by a newcomer's trial?"

Back in the hall, Lucien couldn't help but sigh.

After all, the items he sold were those he didn't need.

He had no intention of selling items like the Nine Divine Swords, territory buildings, or golden-grade equipment.

Yet even so, his low-quality items alone had brought in over a million crystals!

In just 30 days, Lucien had gone from being a pauper to a wealthy small-time merchant.

There were still more than twenty people in the hall.

Coincidentally, Andrew and Alice had just returned from the trading forum.

Seeing Lucien, Andrew grinned and exclaimed in surprise, "Lucien, you went shopping too?"

"That's right," Lucien replied with a slight nod.

Andrew was clearly excited. "I sold quite a bit of Elven Bread and made over 3,000 Void Crystals! If I could figure out how to plant it on a larger scale, I might be able to make tens of thousands of Void Crystals a month!"

"Unfortunately, Farmland is too expensive. I'll have to buy Elven Bread seeds instead."

"The crystals I just made aren't even enough to buy one plot of land. For now, I'll have to settle for some seeds."

Andrew chattered on for a bit before laughing. "If you need Elven Bread, I can sell it to you at a discount—20% off for a brother. How about that?"

"Thanks! If I need it, I'll come to you," Lucien replied with a smile.

In reality, Lucien had no need for Elven Bread.

His territory already had twenty spirit fields, all planted with spirit grain seeds.

Moreover, the multiverse was full of miraculous food seeds. Some of these mystical crops could even grant innate abilities or significantly enhance strength upon consumption!

This was why agricultural lords were fairly common.

In fact, they often outnumbered warlords.

After all, not every lord had the courage to explore the Void and conquer other worlds.

While they were chatting, Alice suddenly said with frustration, "What a pity! Someone was selling a golden-grade unit!"

"A golden unit?" Lucien was taken aback.

Andrew, however, snorted disdainfully. "Hmph, it's a scam! If it were a genuine golden-grade unit, would they be selling it on the forum? It would've been auctioned off long ago, with countless factions competing to buy it!"

Lucien frowned and asked for details.

Andrew explained that he and Alice had visited a marketplace for agricultural lords, where someone was selling a golden-grade soldier token.

The token had attracted a lot of attention initially. However, when people saw the so-called "golden-grade token," most of them left in silence.

The golden soldier token, named Spirit of the Lu Tree, was tied to a legendary beast known as the Lu Tree Spirit.

This unit was considered auxiliary for agricultural lords.

The Lu Tree Spirit had two forms:

Female Lu Tree Spirit: Could bless farmland, significantly boosting crop yield and quality.

Male Lu Tree Spirit: Summoning it would cause a region of farmland to dry up irreversibly.

This duality reflected the Lu Tree Spirit's temperament. Its joy brought prosperity, while its anger brought drought.

Initially, people were intrigued, but as they learned more, their interest turned into disappointment. The token had too many flaws, and only a faction unconcerned with losses would consider buying it.

"This unit is a disaster waiting to happen," Andrew muttered.

"Exactly," Alice added. "Even if someone bought it, it would be a complete waste. It's too risky, even for the buyer."

Hearing their discussion, Lucien's eyes lit up.

This was the unit he was looking for!

"I just remembered—I still need to buy something. I'll head over now," Lucien said, excusing himself.

Andrew and Alice didn't think much of it and continued chatting with others.

Lucien reentered the Earth Trade Forum and followed the path where Andrew and Alice had been.

Once the mist cleared, he found himself in a massive plaza bustling with people.

Lucien wandered through the crowd until he spotted the merchant selling the token.

The merchant was arguing with a potential buyer about the token.

Buyer: "Let me say this one last time: your token has too many flaws. My faction offering 500,000 Void Crystals is already an act of kindness!"

Merchant: "Get lost, you penny-pinching fool! If not for the barracks template requirement, this token would sell for 9 million!"

Buyer: "Hah! A trash unit for 9 million? Why not just rob someone instead?"

Merchant: "Trash or not, it's still golden-grade! If it were better, even 1 billion wouldn't be enough!"

The two argued heatedly, their voices drawing attention despite the guild's anti-surveillance mist.

Eventually, the buyer left in frustration, and the crowd dispersed, shaking their heads and laughing at the scene.

The merchant, red-faced with anger, yelled, "If you're not buying, then scram!"

The onlookers chuckled.

Lucien approached the merchant calmly and said, "I'll take that soldier token."
