Chapter 41 - Chapter 41

The battle dragged on relentlessly.

At first, the Fart Towers had managed to hold back the monster waves, but as their numbers surged, the stench's effectiveness diminished. The "concentration" of the fumes simply couldn't match the sheer volume of enemies.

The Fart Towers now served only to slow the enemy, working in tandem with the other defensive towers to thin the onslaught.

By midnight, the tide finally ebbed.

As the last of the monsters were obliterated, Lucian quickly spent dozens of void crystals to repair the Wooden Walls, reinforcing them just in case. Exhausted, he collapsed onto the ground.

"Finally… it's over," he muttered, glancing at the notification panel.

But the system didn't declare the battle complete.

"Still not done?!" Lucian glanced at the clock—it was already close to 11 p.m.

His heart sank.

Even with all their efforts, the constant tower repairs and ammo replenishment had consumed over 4,000 void crystals.

"This is insane! War is just logistics in disguise," he grumbled, knowing that without a steady supply of resources, the defenses would eventually crumble.

"Young Master!"

Lin Daiyu and Qin Keqing landed beside him, their bodies clean and graceful despite the battle's chaos.

"Let us help you back to the cabin to rest," Qin Keqing offered softly, bending slightly to support him.

Lucian shook his head, gripping her delicate hand gently.

"The battle's not over yet."

"More?" Both women frowned in unison, concern flashing in their eyes.

Qin Keqing's cheeks flushed slightly as she felt Lucian's firm grip on her hand, but she didn't resist, choosing instead to stay close.

Lin Daiyu rolled her eyes at him, her lips parting to scold—

Then she froze. Her expression hardened, and her gaze snapped to the horizon.

Boom. Boom. Boom.

The earth quaked violently.

In the distance, something massive stirred in the shadows and mist, its heavy footsteps growing louder.

Lucian and Qin Keqing followed Lin Daiyu's gaze, their faces tightening as they saw the faint outline of a colossal figure approaching.

Boom. Boom.

The tremors grew stronger, shaking the Wooden Walls.

The thick mist parted, revealing the intruder.

A three-headed giant, towering over ten meters tall. Its grotesque, bloated body heaved with each step, and the faces on its three heads each bore a unique expression.

One head radiated greed, its eyes glowing with insatiable hunger.

Another seethed with envy, its teeth grinding in malice.

The third exuded violence, its mouth twisted into a sadistic grin.

Lucian's heart sank.

"A boss…"

Lucian clenched his fists, trying to stay calm. Boss monsters were normally encountered on the 30th day of the trial. That he was facing one now was a cruel twist of fate.

"Why am I always the exception?" he grumbled under his breath.

Still, he quickly cast Identification to assess the threat.

Three-Headed Buddha

Description: "It perished in greed, malice, and envy, and was reborn in the same."

The lack of detailed stats sent a chill down Lucian's spine.

"This is bad," he muttered, his hands trembling slightly.

Even if the boss was "only" level 10, its stats and abilities were clearly far beyond his scope.

"Stay alert, Young Master!" Lin Daiyu's voice was firm, her usually gentle expression replaced by cold determination.

She donned her Silk Gauntlets, preparing to strike.

Qin Keqing raised her Wind and Moon Mirror, its ethereal glow casting shadows across her delicate face.

"Relax. It's just one boss," Lucian said, steadying his nerves.

The massive three-headed giant lumbered closer, its stomps shaking the ground. Once it entered the towers' range, Lucian issued his command.

"Hit it with everything we've got!"

The Fart Towers fired first, unleashing waves of noxious gas that enveloped the boss.

"PFFT!"

The gas cloaked the creature's massive frame, and for a moment, the three heads gagged and heaved. Their faces turned pale as if experiencing the most unbearable torment imaginable.

But their suffering only fueled their rage.

The remaining towers sprang into action, bombarding the boss with a barrage of elemental spells, bullets, and arrows.

Flames roared. Lightning crackled. Frost coated the ground.

Each projectile struck true, but something horrifying happened.

The greedy face on the boss's left opened its gaping maw and devoured the attacks.

Flames, ice, and electricity vanished into its mouth as if they were mere snacks.

"Burp…" The boss let out a grotesque belch.

Its three heads grinned in unison, their expressions mocking.

"Impossible!" Lucian yelled.

Before he could react, the boss charged forward with terrifying speed, its massive bulk moving faster than anything that size should be capable of.

"Brace yourselves!" Lucian shouted as the behemoth barreled toward the Wooden Walls.
