Ragon rode his horse away from the fields, His plans were unfolding, but there was still much left to be done. His sharp eyes scanned the distant horizon, and his mind turned to another pressing matter.
He went toward the outskirts of the city, heading for the location of the kingdom's most gigantic tree. On reaching there he dismounted his horse, his boots hit the ground with a solid thud. He approached the tree, the large shadow covered him.
Ragon placed his hand on the rough bark, closing his eyes briefly. A faint golden energy coursed through his palm, seeping into the tree. His brows furrowed as he felt the tree's life force—or lack thereof. The leaves which were once green, were now a brittle brown, curling at the edges.
"It's dying," he murmured. He stepped back, his hand sliding off the bark as he flexed his fingers.
No one in the kingdom knew the truth behind this tree, but Ragon did.
