There was a disconcerting silence as they drove the car inside a small, narrow alley. On their way, they saw people injured, lying unconscious on the ground. But they had no time to inspect them as they had to capture the monster before it runs away too far.
Ananya gritted her teeth nervously. Cho gently patted her back reassuring her.
"Miss Ananya.....We already called the health aid reinforcement. They would take care of the injured people we saw," Chang said, driving slowly through the narrow alley with no one around and looking ahead. "What.....What did you see with your vision earlier?" He asked hesitantly.
Ananya sighed and took a deep breath before answering, "I saw blood splattered around the ground....a-and...it was a lot!"
"And?"
"You will see for yourself," She said shutting her eyes close and rubbing her forehead. (I hope it's not as bad as I think.)
Chang suddenly stopped the car, Ananya and Cho sitting behind, slowly moved their eyes to look at the front window. The whole scenery was painted red, blood flowed through the sewers, and the blood was splashed even on the buildings. It looked so much terrifying and brutal.
But only one sense filled with Ananya - Guilt.... If only she was faster enough. If only she was powerful enough to have stopped this earlier. Ananya just looked at the scenery in disbelief, her eyes teary but she held it from crying.
"It was a B- level monster right?" Cho said recalling and being confused at the scenery.
Ananya's eyes widened as she realised something, she quickly got out of the car and started to inspect the surroundings. Cho and Chang exchanged a confused look but they followed her, without any question, they were worried that she had lost her mind.
"We know you lost your mind but...just accept the fate," Chang said shutting his eyes and touching his forehead as he put his hand on her shoulder.
"I haven't lost my mind..... there is something that isn't piecing together..." She said still looking and searching here and there.
"And what is it?" Cho asked even though he was quite getting it what Ananya was trying to say.
"A B-level monster, no matter which species. They don't splatter this much blood while killing their prey. They hunt humans for their precious blood so it is nearly impossible for them to lose any of this precious blood to go to waste. As well as they hide among humans most of the time, so they know how to value the human blood."
"You are nearly correct but.... it was angered, right? wasn't it? so it might be possible ....." Cho questioned, denying her theory.
(Just as she was getting some hope, this damn Cho!) Chang thought gritting his teeth and giving Cho a deadly stare on his back.
"But...." Cho pointed out, "Your prediction is 99% correct Miss Ananya...and this much blood doesn't count as from one single girl."
"There was another little girl with her..." She said, a sense of guilt again filling her that she couldn't save both of them and they faced such a brutal death.
"Still this is a lot of blood.... for only two girls. It might count to ten or more."
"What are you even implying bastard?" Chang growled not believing the fact that there might be more casualties.
"What, I am implying is that...." He said pushing his glasses upwards with his finger. "This place has already been deserted for more than a year. See there are only abandoned buildings... So this blood can be of...."
"The monster?" Ananya remarked as she realised, her eyes widening. "No.....what if it just... ran away? Who can kill this monster without any mana powers?"
"That is a possible explanation too but it is still contradicting the fact that why there is so much blood here?"
The three of them just stared at each other blankly... not sure what to make out of it.
"Maybe we should search this place up before reinforcements come," Ananya said wearing her gloves.
"Yes madam!" Both of them responded in unison.
They started to look for clues in the remnants. Cho felt like throwing up when he had to pick up those blood vessels to find something. Everything felt gross and weird and the smell was so bad that one could imagine.
When finally Ananya was about to give up she saw a hand coming out from a massive pile of blood remnants and stored organs. She quickly scraped off the blood with her magic and sighed in relief when she saw the little girl lying unconscious covered in blood, thankfully she was alive and wasn't injured at all.
"That's a relief..." Chang said coming to her, he picked up the child. "We will send her to the medics," Chang said, leaving with the girl and Cho followed along, the place where the medics were wasn't too far from here. They left Ananya and the car there in case she wanted to find any more clues.
"A lot of theories are being made up in my mind." She said to herself looking at the half-cut body of Kaia which was also among the pile she found where that girl was found earlier. It is brutally torn from the waist and only the bottom parts remain, It is evident that the monster bit it off by the teeth marks.
Ananya clenched her jaw at the thought of how painful was it for her while she also protected the girl at the same time.
Suddenly her eyes widened by surprise as she took notice of some blood remnants moving ..... it was, towards Kaia's body.
"No this can't be..." Ananya couldn't believe her eyes as the blood slowly flowed back and some of the chewed organs were once again reforming and moving in the right position in Kaia's body, slowly her organs, all her internal structures and then the skin. But it was a really slow process, the vessels were moving with a speed proportional to a tortoise...But Ananya didn't have any time for that as well as she couldn't let go of such an amusing being.
"Kaia Aorang, you will be in my care from now on." She said, a grin appearing on her face as she tossed two dice on the floor. Her eyes went purple again. Suddenly, a magic spell appeared on the floor, moving clockwise, and the dice quickly reached the floor. The dice started emitting a veil that surrounded all of the buildings and roads, and it slowly shrank back, clearing all the blood, muscles, and even the body. The veil got absorbed back into the dice.
She gently lifted the dice and put it back in her pocket. (If she is trying to regenerate from the remnants, then it is better to give her a close place without any disturbance.) She turned back, going to where the medics and reinforcements were.
