Chapter 1 - Bullied In School

"What the fuck, Abigail?" Ava yelled madly at her younger sister, who intentionally poured a beverage on her school uniform with a smirk forming on her tiny lips.

"Oops, sorry, Ava, I didn't mean to do that," Abigail said, faking innocence. Ava was so mad and frowned.

"Don't tell me that was a mistake, Abigail. You know in your heart you did this intentionally, and now you've ruined my school uniform again," Ava said softly, even though she was incredibly angry at Abigail.

"Hey, don't make a fuss out of this. You heard her right; it wasn't intentional, so why take it so far?" one of Abigail's friends said sarcastically while Abigail smirked, and the other one standing next to Abigail on the right side laughed.

"Making a fuss? Are you kidding me? She just ruined my uniform, and you think I'm taking it too far?" Ava said softly, causing Abigail to roll her eyes.

"Stop making a scene. I just told you I didn't mean it. Why don't you just forget it already? Do you forget what Dad told you?" Abigail said devilishly and smirked.

Ava sighed and turned to leave for the washroom since her uniform was ruined.

Abigail and her two friends laughed, giving high fives as they walked to their seats for lunch since it was lunchtime and they were heading to the cafeteria to eat.

Ava, on the other hand, walked into the washroom and sighed, wiping her stained uniform.

"Oh, not again. Mrs. Patel is gonna talk about this, and the whole class would laugh at me again," Ava thought angrily. This wasn't the first time Abigail had ruined her uniform. It was either Abigail or her two friends ruining it.

"This is the fourth time. Dad will hear about this. Abigail is now fond of bullying me with her friends. I'm never going to be free from this bullying until I report her to Dad again. I hope he will believe me this time," Ava thought while trying to clean her uniform, but it wasn't coming off. She hissed and left the washroom for class. The break was over, and the next class would start, so she walked to the class where the teacher was already present.

The teacher saw Ava's shirt and frowned. "Ava, don't tell me this happened again. You're not a baby anymore. Why do you always have a stain on your uniform? Mr. Jack complained about this, and the same goes for Mr. Ben, and it happened today again, making it twice that I've seen you with a stained uniform," Mrs. Patel complained again while the class burst out laughing, some students whispering and pointing at her uniform with mocking expressions on their faces.

Ava felt embarrassed and prayed the ground would just open and swallow her to save her from this embarrassing moment.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Patel, it won't happen again," Ava said because, firstly, she didn't know any lie or excuse to tell about why her uniform was like that, and secondly, she was a humble girl, unlike every other student who talked back when the teacher corrected them.

Mrs. Patel sighed and nodded her head.

"Please go have your seat," Mrs. Patel said

while Ava could only thank her without looking at her or meeting the gazes that were staring at her.

She walked back to her seat, and the lesson started. She didn't pay attention to any looks; her focus was all on what the teacher was discussing about a particular topic of the period.

After school….

Ava got home. As just a sixteen-year-old girl, she decided to let her parents know about how her younger sister was bullying her in school with her friends.

But Ava was yelled at again, as usual, whenever she reported Abigail's mean behavior toward her to her parents.

"You will have to do everything that I say in this house as long as you are still living under my roof," Mr. Gabriel Everette yelled angrily at the sixteen-year-old Ava, who was looking at him with fear because Ava had complained that her younger sister Abigail was bullying her with her friends in school.

"I have told you several times that no matter what your sister does to you, you should consider that she is still your sister, and you shouldn't complain about her to me. Do you understand?" Mr. Gabriel yelled, causing Ava to nod her head in fear.

"I'm sorry, Dad," Ava said, but Mr. Gabriel walked away, leaving the living room to join his wife and their younger daughter, Abigail.

Abigail sighed and blinked.

"Again? They never want to hear my side, only hers," she thought sadly while looking in the direction of Abigail, who smirked and rolled her eyes at her before standing and walking to the dining table to join their parents.

Ava was sad and not in the mood to eat because she had been shouted at again when she was the victim, and Abigail was the one who yelled.

Ava walked straight to her room. Her room was downstairs and small, while Mr. Gabriel and his wife, as well as Abigail's rooms, were upstairs.

Ava was used to her room, having stayed there since she was little, and she never thought about being the only one in the downstairs room.

But being maltreated and treated differently than her younger sister always baffled her, and she wondered why her parents acted that way toward her.

"Don't they love me as much as they love Abigail?" she asked herself so many times.

Ava got to her room, and in deep thought, she was so sad and angry that tears began to well up in her eyes.

"Why do Dad and Mom hate me? Am I bad luck, or do they just love Abigail more because she is younger? Would they love me like they do Abigail if I were the younger one? Why are they making me feel different like I'm not their daughter too?" Ava said to herself while crying.

In a sullen tone, with tears, she said, "Dad and Mom hate me."
