Chapter 2 - 2) Reborn Anew

Eren continued to scream while his feet seemed to be standing on something, so he slowly opened his eyes to see the front of Alverica Academy. Its grandeur and beauty were even better than he could have ever imagined, as he went silent in awe before noticing the judgemental stares.

"You ok? You scared me, man," mentioned Kyle, looking at Eren, confused.

"Do you want to sit down for a bit?" asked Amelia worriedly.

"Move!" yelled Eren, pushing past the two running towards a nearby fountain, peering into it. His old appearance was completely gone and now replaced by someone he was all too familiar with. He had short and well-kept black hair along with blue eyes; his pyjamas were replaced with a black uniform filled with golden dining.

Eren held his forehead in discomfort as a rush of memories he never experienced before flooded his head and seemed so familiar. An entire life he never lived placed itself into his head.

"You're freaking me out, man," said Kyle, looming into the water's reflection. Eren stood up from the fountain.

"Sorry about this; I guess I'm just nervous," he replied.

"If you say so," answered Kyle.

"Let's go sign up now, so then we still have a little time before the exams," said Eren as Kyle and Amelia agreed.

'Kyle Starch, my best friend since I was a child, betrays me in the final battle and is one of the main characters in Rise Of A Hero due to being one of the strongest characters in the game due to being the son of the Dragon Keldraught, The Demon Eater, though he doesn't know it yet.

Then there's Amelia Bell, also a childhood friend, who becomes my fiancée in the future, at least until she stabs me. It doesn't help that she's also one of the best supports in the game.

Then there's me, Eren. A character with unlimited potential, but due to being so hard to grow and being incredibly weak in the beginning of the game, not many players select him, but unlike them, I know how to use him.'

Even looking towards the amulet tied around his neck. Amelia was quite tall, standing at 5'9, with a slender and toned build along with her fair porcelain skin and subtle blush on her cheeks. Her hair is a deep chestnut brown, cascading in soft waves down to her mid-back with grey-blue eyes and long dark eyelashes. She wore a small locket around her neck that contained a picture of her grandmother, with whom she was close.

The three walked towards the entrance, Eren entranced by the game he spent so long playing becoming real, and he gets to be a part of it. Kyle and Amelia got assigned their groups, leaving Eren for last, already knowing what it'll be.

"You'll be a part of Miss Silva's group. Good luck, Sol," said the lady at the desk, handing him his applicant number plaque.

"Looks like we're on our own from here on out," said Kyle.

"It would seem so," replied Eren.

"We're both down this way, so we'll meet up later when we pass for Class A," exclaimed Kyle, holding out his fist with a large grin.

"Dam right," replied Eren, fist-bumping Kyle and reciprocating the smile. The group separated and waved their goodbyes.

'Oh, I'll make it into A class; don't you worry,' thought Eren, clenching his fist with an evil-like grin across his face while heading to the bathroom door.

Eren scoured the bathroom, making sure no one was there, before locking himself into a cubicle and looking the door before taking off all his clothes. He placed them neatly in a pile and moved them into a safe corner before ripping the amulet off of his neck, placing it onto the ground, and stepping on it. The glass shattered, leaving a broken amulet and a small blue stone exuding an aura of the same colour.

'The Aquila Amulet! A possible starting item with a description telling the players it's merely cosmetic and holds no true power. Eventually people discovered this small stone and tried to use it in forging and alchemy to no avail, and it became a 'dead item' and was assumed to have no purpose. However, if consumed, you gain the power of the stars, a power you have to grind like no other, but your time is well spent. Only Eren Sol can withstand the powers side effects due to being born by the cosmos and Star Killer. It's always the orphans with overpowered genetics in these games. '

Eren held up the stone, smiling at its glory before swallowing it like a pill. Eren immediately collapsed, holding his chest in pure agony. His skin started to crack and glow with light escaping his eyes and mouth. Slowly his entire body started to become encased by his now rock-like skin with no signs of life. His heart continued to beat before also becoming nothing but rock, and the bathroom went silent.

Cracks emerged in his rock heart before it got vaporised, as his old human heart was now destroyed and replaced with a small sun. Soon his rock skin also vaporised amongst the light that beamed from all his body. The light finally dimmed, and Eren could breathe again.

Eren laid himself flat across the bathroom floor, full of scorch marks, to recuperate. "Holy shit, that hurt," muttered Eren, exhausted.

Eren lazily got back up and changed back into his uniform before heading to the exam room and taking his seat. All the students were sat down and introducing themselves to each other.

The door opened, and everyone instantly turned quiet as Miss Silva strutted to the front. She was tall with a lean and statuesque frame along with pale skin that had an almost ethereal quality. She had long, silver-white hair that was intricately braided that matched her ice-blue eyes and sharp eyebrows.

She wore a long, flowing white robe with far-trimmed mantle drapes and a small necklace that held a small and neatly cut oblong crystal. She wore black leather gloves and black high heels with a small snowflake pattern at the front.

"Hello, applicants! I'll be the teacher overseeing your exams, Miss Silva, and I'll be teaching you magic theory if any one of you passes. Soon an exam paper will be placed at your desks with which you'll be given 90 minutes to complete it. Afterwards you'll undergo a mock battle where your combat abilities will be measured using school equipment only. I want to see your skill, not your blacksmiths." said Miss Silva with her cool and measured voice, which was surprisingly gentle.

With a click of her hands, a set of equipment appeared on our desks along with the exam paper. "Begin!" she ordered as everyone hastily started their paper.

Except Eren, of course.
