"what are you doing here?"
"Easy, tiger," I replied, trying to defuse his mood as I made my way to sit beside him.
Just as I had anticipated, he was sitting there, a bottle of alcohol in hand. The moonlight reflected off the glass, highlighting the tension etched across his face. His usual calm demeanor was replaced by something heavier—stress, perhaps.
"It's what I heard too," he said, not bothering to look at me as he took another sip.
I tilted my head, studying him for a moment before speaking. "Calm down. I'm not the girl you need to keep hiding away anymore. I'm Athena," I said with a smirk, hoping to lighten the mood.
To my surprise, he burst out laughing, the sound rough but genuine. "Yeah, sure," he muttered, shaking his head.
I stretched my hand out to him, grinning. "Pass me the alcohol, you devil, or do you want to starve me to death?"
