A young man with raven black hair and azure blue eyes, wearing a black blazer with a white undercoat, sprawled across a broken throne.
Since he didn't understand where he was, the male observed the room in silence.
Awakening in the dark, he could only examine the surrounding dark, murky cave and try to move his body.
In the distance, he heard water dripping.
'Did it form a pool?'
The sound grew louder and hit a puddle or pool.
As he tried to lift his heavy body, the man noticed broken stones and crushed obsidian slate on the ground.
He looked down and noticed his pale hands and thin wrists.
'It's difficult to move...'
All of a sudden, he began to panic, leaning on the cool black armrest of a ruined throne.
'Who am I?'
A simple question.
Yet he couldn't answer it...
When did he come to this place? Was he transferred here?
'Transferred?'
Somehow, that thought entered his mind, knowledge that felt natural to him. Nevertheless, the void of his identity remained.
'What's that strange crystal?'
The man noticed a cracked blue crystal leaning against a tiered stone pit. The stones were black yet looked sleek, and they shone even in this dark, murky cavern.
'I wonder what this does...'
He reached out slowly, his fingertip touching the crystal before a shard sliced open his delicate skin.
Crimson Red.
Drip—!
His blood oozed from the cut, staining the old, broken gemstone with a wet trickle.
A warmth spread from the crystal and flowed into him through his bloody fingertip. It slithered towards his chest, through his arm, causing the man's eyes to widen and open his mouth with a gasp.
"What's happening?!"
He blinked several times.
'Huh?'
There was something strange in his vision: a black screen with strange symbols and sigils written on it, like a notepad.
However, that notepad wouldn't leave the corner of his vision.
'Am I going crazy?!'
Despite wanting to inspect the strange characters, a loud sound echoed.
Shatter—!
Suddenly, the ground began to tremble, a slight tremor at first, before the humming gemstone hurled his body across the cave.
"Argh...!"
'Wha.... my abdomen hurts...'
Thud—!
The moment he fell, his arms failed to break his fall. The man's weak muscles could not keep him from harm as he landed on crushed obsidian slates.
"Ugh!"
His face twisted in pain, rolling across the floor.
A burning sensation spread from where the crystal cut open his finger as the entire room began to shake like an earthquake.
Dust and water began to leak and fall from the ceiling, causing the male to cover his face.
'Damn it!'
The moment the shaking reached its peak, a loud humming filled the cave, like a soprano screaming in agony.
He covered his ears, groaning as sticky, hot liquid oozed from his nose and ears, the slimy fluid covering his fingertips as he heard a strange voice speaking...
[#### #### ############ ######!]
At first, it was quiet, like a whisper, before the gentle and mature female voice continued.
'Who are you...?!'
As soon as he stopped fighting the pain, a flood of information came rushing into his mind.
'Stop... I cannot understand you... please!'
He began to convulse while gripping his head.
'What's happening?!'
Words.
Symbols.
Strange Sigils and Markings.
He didn't understand what they meant at first.
However, he quickly understood their meaning and usage—even the phonetic sound became clear as he screamed out in agony and from the absurdities of his situation.
"Argh... stop.... stop... my brain will melt!"
A searing pain, like someone pouring molten steel into his skull and mixing it with a sharp claw.
Then, all of a sudden, the pain vanished, replaced with a beautiful voice.
This time, he could understand it.
[Acquired Common, Demonic, Monster, Ancient and Elvish Language Skills]
All of a sudden, the strange panel that appeared at the corner of his sight, with jumbled-up language, began to make sense...
However, he noticed a timer slowly counting down and became anxious.
'Why is there a timer?'
He gazed to the left, focusing on the black panel. It felt familiar to him, but he couldn't quite remember the world or what it related to.
His mind was still empty; the strange runes now made sense.
[You have received a second chance!]
[Will you accept your new life?]
"What?"
To suddenly learn that he seemed to have died, yet having no recollection caused his head to become white and empty.
Yet the ticking timer didn't allow him to stop.
[Yes] [No]
[Time Remaining: 00:52]
Less than a minute remained, and the clock continued dropping, causing his body to rush to its feet, almost stumbling once more.
The once-broken gemstone is now glowing a dark purple and whirring with a mysterious aura.
'What the hell is that crystal?!'
[Time Remaining: 00:46]
He couldn't help but become rushed, his mind unable to keep up with his thoughts.
'What if I press no and die forever?!'
Yet there was mysterious knowledge in his mind from earlier, places, terms and information that didn't seem related to this world.
'But I know and understand them...!'
The mysterious knowledge told him that this would never become a bad thing for him. Even if he died again, if he died once, could he blame anyone but himself?
Guided by the strange sense of confidence, his weak and trembling arm pressed [Yes]. The moment he noticed the clock, his heart almost stopped.
[Time Remaining: 00:02]
'I almost died!'
'There is no time to be indecisive, this world won't wait for me to adapt.'
However, the moment he recovered his senses, the broken crystal shattered into thousands of shards and began to shudder, violently swaying inside the obsidian stone pit.
The crystal lifted off the ground and created a howling sound before thousands of beautiful purple shards flew past his face towards the gemstone, and it started repairing.
'Wow... so beautiful.'
Sparkling light and trails of purple mist created shapes in the air.
"Huh?"
He suddenly grabbed his head, feeling a jolt of pain, followed by another, until he dropped to his knees.
A pain like being struck by a hammer repeatedly.
The man tried to endure the feeling of his skull cracking from substantial amounts of information and a strange... tingling energy.
It was the purple mist—once the crystal seemed repaired—the mist began pouring into his body.
"Hrrk!"
[Congratulations!]
[You chose life against all the odds!]
'Wha...t?'
He couldn't fully understand the words because his mind began to fade, darkness clouding his eyes while the soft female's voice became like a lullaby.
[You have accepted the role of Dungeon Master]
[Welcome to your dungeon!]
'Wait...'
[Current Location: Gladius Kingdom (Outskirts)]
'What is that place?'
[Warning!]
[A low-level monster is attacking your dungeon!]
'Don't do this...'
[Please Survive!]
'Damn it!'
The male's consciousness faded, and his mind still tried to focus and understand the current situation. Yet the moment the purple mist filled his body, his body began to shine.
[Congratulations!]
[Failed Experiment 69 has successfully evolved into a Lesser Chimera!]
[I will now transfer all dungeon controls and systems.]
There was a sudden silence—the form of the male changed. His face twisted in pain while his veins boiled like liquid tar.
Something changed inside him as his skin peeled, revealing a smooth and silky soft layer.
The man transformed from his previous self.
His dull blue eyes suddenly became vivid and shone with a slight azure glow, creating a trail of light when he moved his gaze.
"Hrrk... I am going to vomit..."
He felt intense nausea, immense pain, heartburn and a tight chest.
Yet... something felt different—he could feel his body become stronger than before, his fingernails now glossy claws with flaming gems embedded into them.
And when he focused on them, small threads of flaming silk grew from their tip.
'What...'
'What happened to me...?'
In front of his eyes, he saw a strange screen that caused him to freeze on the spot after dragging himself to his feet.
