"What happened? Even after using the technique, I lost... how?" he muttered blankly.
He took a step back, breathing heavily. The realization hit him like a tidal wave—his greatest strength, everything he had relied on, was nothing before Max. "How?" he whispered looking at Max, his voice cracking. "How... are you so strong?"
Max didn't answer. Instead, he merely stared at him with those piercing eyes, a smile never leaving his face.
Killian staggered back, unable to comprehend it. His hand trembled, his chest tightening as the weight of the situation pressed down on him.
