Max immediately fired four magic bullets at the incoming fireball.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The first two bullets dissipated some of the fire on impact, but the next two bullets completely neutralized the fireball before it could reach Max.
'It took four magic bullets to destroy one fireball from the Goblin Shaman… If I can do the same… Interesting,' Max mused as he launched an attack.
He fired four magic bullets simultaneously, aiming straight at the Goblin Shaman's head.
But the Goblin Shaman was prepared. It fired four lightning bolts from its staff, which intercepted the magic bullets and neutralized them.
Max frowned when he noticed that the Goblin Shaman's lightning bolts had canceled out his magic bullets. 'I don't want a close-combat battle, but it seems I don't have much choice here,' he thought as he began dashing toward the Goblin Shaman.
Midway toward the goblin, he fired another magic bullet.
In response, the Goblin Shaman unleashed another fireball at him. Seeing this, Max smiled and fired three more bullets.
His four magic bullets destroyed the fireball midway.
However, just after that, the Goblin Shaman launched five lightning bolts.
'This is it,' Max thought, waiting for the moment. As the five lightning bolts crackled through the air toward him, Max swiftly activated his Three Dimensional Body skill. In an instant, the entire hall unfolded before him in an omniscient, all-encompassing perspective.
Every movement, every flicker of the lightning bolts, became crystal clear. He could see their precise trajectories, calculate their speeds, and predict their destinations with uncanny accuracy. To Max, it was as if time itself had slowed, the chaos of the attack reduced to a perfectly clear map of possibilities.
With such god-like ability, dodging the five lightning bolts while moving toward them was child's play for Max.
He made a series of odd maneuvers as he dashed, effortlessly dodging the lightning bolts, and within moments, he was close to the Goblin Shaman.
He could use his sword, and he very much wanted to, but he knew his sword art wouldn't do much against a level 4 goblin. The only attack that might be effective in killing the Goblin Shaman was firing all ten bullets at its body, but Max had other plans.
Since coming out of the Dimension of Time, he had been using Magic Bullets frequently and had fired all ten bullets many times. But now, after witnessing the Goblin Shaman's fireball attack, he had come up with a new idea.
He wanted to combine all ten magic bullets into one large magic bullet, which would have the power of all ten bullets combined.
'Let's try it. The worst that could happen is I fail and have to use the Three Dimensional Body to escape,' Max thought. He pointed a finger at the Goblin Shaman, positioning his hand like a gun.
He concentrated and released one magic bullet at the tip of his finger, but he didn't fire it. He held it just outside his index finger.
A small blue ball, the size of his finger, began to glow at the tip of his index finger.
Having successfully controlled the magic bullet at the tip of his finger, Max immediately fired another magic bullet. The blue ball of light became dangerously unstable, but Max gritted his teeth and held on.
He used all his strength to control the blue ball, which had become slightly larger and unstable from the second shot. If the shot were fired now, he would have to start over, and he didn't want that. Using sheer willpower, he managed to stabilize the blue ball at the tip of his finger.
Zhang! Zhang! Zhang! Zhang! Zhang!
At that moment, the Goblin Shaman launched another five lightning bolts at him, but Max once again dodged them all with his Three Dimensional Body. At the same time, he fired the third magic bullet.
The ball became unstable again, but, with the experience from the last time, Max was better able to control it, preventing it from going berserk.
He fired the fourth, fifth, sixth… and continued until he had fired the tenth bullet.
By the time he fired the tenth bullet, the blue ball of light had grown to the size of his fist, pulsating with dangerously unstable energy.
'This is it. I can't control it anymore,' Max thought, gritting his teeth. He turned his attention to the Goblin Shaman, which was stepping back sensing the energy in the bullet.
"How could I let you go after I've prepared such a delicious meal for you?" Max laughed with a crazed look and fired the concentrated bullet, a combination of all ten magic bullets' power.
BANG!
A beam of blue light shot from the blue ball at the tip of Max's finger and pierced through the Goblin Shaman's head, illuminating the entire hidden chamber.
Bang!
After passing through the head, the blue light struck the back wall, tearing through it, and then disappeared beyond it.
"Now that's what I'd call a finishing move," Max smiled, seeing that he had successfully accomplished what he had set out to do on his first try.
[The skill Magic Bullets has leveled up to level 11.]
[The skill Magic Bullets has leveled up to level 12.]
[The skill Magic Bullets has leveled up to level 13.]
At that moment, three notifications appeared in Max's vision, and a wide smile spread across his face.
"I've trained so hard for three years and raised Magic Bullets to level 10, but now I try something new and the skill levels up three times straight to level 13," Max mused, finding this very interesting. 'So trying new things with a skill also increases mastery of the skill level,' he noted mentally.
After that, Max scanned the hidden chamber and noticed that it resembled a treasure room, with various items carefully placed on the wreckage scattered around the walls and tables.
'This must be the goblins' treasury room,' Max deduced before heading toward the items dropped by the level 4 Goblin Shaman.
'A magic staff and the usual drops from goblins. Nothing special?' He was a little disappointed by the drops, especially given that it was a hidden chamber, but he didn't mind and gathered everything up.
He moved forward to the place where he had first spotted the Goblin Shaman. Upon arrival, he noticed a few miscellaneous items, but one thing immediately caught his attention.
"A skill scroll!" Max grabbed the scroll and checked its status.
