The air was cold and still, the snow crunching beneath their boots as they walked side by side down the winding path.

"You know," Zhao Yan began, breaking the silence, "I can't believe you were that reckless back there."
Hua Jing rolled her eyes, already bracing herself for one of his lectures.
"Reckless?" she echoed. "What part of saving someone's life qualifies as reckless?"
"That was a burning building," Zhao Yan said sharply, stopping in his tracks to glare at her.
