Daniel's face darkened. "What did you just say?"
"You heard me." Marissa's eyes gleamed. "You lot swagger around like you're untouchable, but the moment someone doesn't back down, you start getting all worked up."
Drake 's smile vanished completely.
"You're really asking for it," Elliot Hayes muttered, stepping forward. "If it weren't for your family name, you'd be on your knees by now."
Marissa rolled her eyes. "Oh, let me guess—you're about to threaten me with your 'incredible magic,' tell me you'll make me regret this?"
Samantha Voss, the only female in the challenger group, narrowed her eyes. "You talk big. Let's see if you can back it up."
Marissa sighed dramatically, shaking her head. "And we're back to eight-on-one again. So predictable."
A few freshmen snickered.
Daniel snapped.
"Enough!" he roared, his stars flaring to life, magic surging around him.
Samantha and Elliot joined in, their own spells forming.
