The sky was colored in a lazy blue as thick white clouds calmly drifted across the sky
The squad assembled at the Mythrails clocktower at 3 pm just like they planned. The air of nervousness and excitement filled the clock tower.
Among the six, Arthur was exceptionally nervous since it was his first time contributing something to the group.
"Spread out everyone" Valerio instructed in a calm tone. He had laid out a concealing formation that prevents ordinary people from seeing and interfering with the ritual. Only Nova users can see the ritual.
The group carried out Valerio's instructions quickly. He had drilled the plan into them for the past month. They have developed the confidence to execute the plan with minimal mistakes.
Valerio took out a red cube that was the size of his palm. There were cloud patterns on the cube. He looked at Mathew, Jayden, and Arthur, who were standing next to each other.
The twins were standing at a distance from them since they were not involved in the ritual. They were only there to observe and intervene in case of some unnecessary disturbances.
Valerio gave a small gray-colored cube to Jayden.
"What's this, Mr Val?" Jayden asked with raised brows. There was no mention of any gray-colored cube in the plan Mr Val explained.
"Explaining it would be more time-consuming. Let's just say if you imbue enough Nova to break this cube, we will swap places" Valerio explained as his face wore a smirk.
"Now you won't be stuck anywhere for half a decade" he laughed.
"Thank you, Mr Val" Jayden hugged Valerio, getting a bit emotional. He was thankful to Valerio for even thinking about his issue, much less providing a safety mechanism.
"No need to get so emotional. But only use this when necessary" Valerio cautioned Jayden, as he nodded seriously.
Jayden took out a small mirror from his pocket and placed the cube on the mirror's surface. The cube vanished into the mirror.
"Whoa, so you've even got subspace now," Mathew asked in surprise.
"I guess so" Jayden scratched his head.
"Okay, let us continue," Valerio said as Arthur, Mathew, and Jayden stepped forward. Mathew started to send his Golden Nova toward the cube. The cube started to mysteriously float in the air.
Just after a few seconds, Jayden also started to imbue his Gray Nova towards the cube. They both steadily supplied Nova with the cube. The air around the cube started to twist as golden and greyish lightning crackled around the cube.
The cube started to slowly change to a black color as it enlarged in size.
"Arthur, now" Valerio shouted.
Arthur extended his palm towards the cube and tried to send his Crimson Nova. But his Nova came into existence and faded away quickly.
Nervousness was visible on his face. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and tried to concentrate. His Crimson Nova started to slowly seep out of him.
"C'mon, Arthur, that's it" Kael shouted in encouragement.
"Let him concentrate" Lyra shushed Kael.
As everything around Arthur quieted down, the Crimson Nova slowly started to creep out of him. Since he wasn't very experienced, he couldn't concentrate it on his arm like the others.
Everyone felt the same metallic taste they felt in the mirror world again, but the bloodlust seemed to have reduced to a certain extent as Arthur now had at least some control.
"Even though we saw it a few times in training-" Kael looked at Arthur in astonishment.
"It's still like we're seeing it for the first time, right?" Lyra finished his sentence.
"Yeah," Kael nodded absentmindedly.
"Arthur, now towards the cube" Valerio instructed.
Arthur nodded his head and guided his Nova towards the cube. Upon contact with his Nova, the black cube became even darker. Slowly, cracks started to develop on the cube.
"Uncle Val, is that supposed to happen?" Lyra asked anxiously after seeing the cracks on the cube.
"Yeah, that's how it works" Valerio nodded.
The number of cracks started to increase, and existing cracks widened even further, and the cube slowly rose in the air and started to wobble vigorously. The cube then glowed faintly.
"Cover yourselves" Valerio commanded.
Without any question, the group coated themselves in their respective novas, and soon the cube was fully covered with cracks…. without making a sound the cube burst and shattered into pieces emitting a huge shockwave that was powerful enough to destroy all the glass windows and causing cracks on all the buildings that were in the surroundings, spreading debris everywhere
There wasn't a thing visible for a while due to the shattering of the cube which scooped up a lot of dust and smoke
"Un…cle..Val?" Lyra coughed.
"Hmm..looks like we really did it," Valerio said with a smirk.
"Uncle Val, What do you exactly mean by that?" Arthur asked Valerio with a frown.
Valerio gestured ahead "Why don't you just see the scene for yourself "
"Woahhh!!" Arthur, Mathew, Jayden and the Twins, they all exclaimed in unison, the group started at the structure with awe.
Before their eyes stood an enormous structure with a short set of staircases that led to the entrance which was completely blacked out except for something in the shape of a broken egg that continued to pulse , One of the staircases had two broken pillars which were made out of yellow bricks which glowed faintly even though some of the bricks had cracks on them, despite being old and broken it gave out elegance and richness
"Mr.Val is the thing that you spoke about earlier?" Mathew asked
Jayden stepped in closer "If this thing appeared in front of us, does that mean-" Before Jayden could complete his sentence, Valerio interjected
"Yes, the summoning ritual is now complete, this was exactly what I was talking about earlier…we have managed to summon the ruin of ' that god ' " Valerio concluded
The figures of Mathew, Jayden, and Arthur began to fade and turn semi-transparent. Arthur looked at both his hands through which he could see Valerio, who was standing in front of him.
"Uncle Val, what's happening to me? " Arthur asked Valerio, his voice trembling.
