CHAPTER:3 [YOUTHFUL INNOCENCE]
Inside the carriage, Wu zian and the young girl engaged in conversation the whole day.
Wu zian found the young girl's name to be Xao Er, the fourth daughter of the Xao family, and many other information.
Mainly, Wu zian focused on information regarding cultivation. In this world, every person is born with a metaphysical space in their abdomen.
Cultivation meant cultivating the abounded spiritual energy inside the metaphysical space. For this process, there is a fixed number of space channels that remain the same throughout a cultivator's lifetime.
Space channels act as a medium that connects a metaphysical space to the outside world, allowing a cultivator to absorb spiritual energy from the outside world.
A middle-aged man sat on the high wooden bench at the front of the carriage. With a snap of the reins, he urged the horse to move forward.
The middle-aged man looked backwards at the carriage and sighed."Youngsters nowadays really talk a lot."
The chariot in front stopped suddenly, gradually stopping the other chariot behind it as well.
From the front, a person approached the middle aged man and said."Second elder has ordered we should stay here for night."
The middle aged man nodded, stepped out and knocked on the chariot's door.
Inside the chariot, Wu zian and Xao Er seemed very happy while talking with each other.
Xao Er and Wu zian heard the knock."Fourth miss, we will be staying here for night."
After a while, they walked out of the chariot. Wu zian looked at other people working hard to set up camp. Some of them looked jealous, but he didn't notice it.
Wu zian spent the whole day with fourth Miss Xao Er while others worked hard driving the chariot, gathering wood, collecting water and setting up camp, Being jealous was natural.
After leaving the chariot Xao Er left to visit her uncle leaving Wu zian in a very awkward situation. Besides her, he didn't know anyone here.
He approached the people who were collecting water from the nearby river."Brother, can I help you?" he asked.
The person didn't seem happy. He looked at Wu zian with wrinkles on his forehead and said."Hmm, take a bucket, collect water and come here."
Wu zian nodded, picked up a bucket from the ground and went to the riverside.
He looked at two fish inside the river roaming around each other, as they moved, their scales were scrapped by the stone beneath , but they continued to swim together, seemingly in love.
Wu zian separated those two fishes, thinking he saved their lives.
Wu zian's actions were of no help, he didn't understand their love, showing his youthful innocence. He collected the water and left.
Inside the river, both fishes searched for each other, and in a short while, they died.
Wu zian reached the camp and placed the bucket near other buckets.
He helped almost every person for setting up the camp.
Wu zian collected the wood on his arm, assisting another person to chop the tree. He asked."Are you guys not afraid of any beast encounter?"
The person had a middle-aged appearance. He laughed hearing Wu zian."This forest only has normal beasts, and with a cultivator with us there is no reason to be afraid."
Wu zian was very interested in cultivation he immediately asked about the cultivator.
The middle-aged man replied."Second Elder is the only cultivator among us. If something happens, we'll have to rely on him."
Wu zian didn't ask anymore and continued to help.
After a while, Wu zian lay on the top of a rock, wrapping his hands around his head. He was still thinking about cultivation.
"Lying here in middle of wood, I am still feeling safe this is the might of the cultivator, cultivation is a path worth walking on."
Wu zian felt very exhausted, looking at the sky above him, he relaxed a bit. His eyes felt a bit heavy.
In Wu zian's pupils, the moon shined brightly, his eyes started to close.
The forest felt silent. Even the sound of moving leaves couldn't be heard under such silence. Wu zian's closing eyes widened, hearing a faint sound.
The faint sound turned into whisper of air, Wu zian sat up and gazed at the forest, looking up three shadows were flying.
Wu zian focused his gaze, the shadows looked like birds. Their wings spanning wider than normal, black fur and red eyes.
Wu zian's expression froze, he identified those birds to be vultures.
Those vultures danced in the air, letting out a sharp grunt, attracting the attention of every eye below.
In coordination, those vultures directly descend on the people on the ground.
"Step aside." A loud sound echoed through the air.
Three swords came flying directly attacking those vultures.
Dodging the sword those vultures became even more reckless, air currents generated as they faped their wings.
In a second their chopped heads, fall on the ground.
In the middle of all this, a man appeared, wearing noble clothes and holding a sword.
"Second elder has arrived now we are saved."
Wu zian heard the crowd of people yelling."Second elder", he murmured in a low voice."Cultivator." This was the first time Wu zian saw cultivation technique, making him more interested towards cultivation.
Wu Zian had lots of knowledge about the beasts living in this forest, he stepped off the rock and approached the dead bodies of the vultures.
Touching those dead bodies, a troubling question gnawed ." why? Why did these vultures attack so recklessly?"
This moment felt very familiar to Wu zian, he scratched his hair, he whispered in a low voice."Wolves." He remembered the trap set up by wolves at the river.
The cultivator was still calming the crowd.
Wu zian looked at the crowd, he understood reaching near the cultivator would be hard.
He grabbed bald head of the beheaded vulture and tossed it at the crowd. It landed on a person, painting that person back with blood.
That person screamed, creating a commotion.
Wu zian rushed towards the cultivator and pulled his hand."Sir, something is wrong."
The cultivator looked at Wu zian."I remember you, you are the blood drinking kid." He touched Wu zian's wrist."Don't worry, your blood circulation is now normal."
