Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Alpha Mates Desire

Alpha Christian's POV

"Ugh, can't you see how concerned I am? Why would you say that?" She yelled, anger rising in her chest.

Giselle walked closer to me, her hands lying over her heart. "Alpha, you know I have always been there for you. So, can't you see I'm the one who should hold your heart?" she pleaded desperately, each word laden with a flirty smile.

For a moment, she stood in front of me batting her eye lashes.

The way her eyes bore into mine, I felt my heart thumping loudly in my chest.

As she inched closer to me, her steps revealed a sadness which lay deep in her. Then a whiff of her sweet perfume filled my nostrils, and I shuddered.

Why is she so close to me? For the love of Moon Goddess, can't she just give me some space!? I huffed angrily while my fists started clenching and unclenching with every moment that passed.

Just tell her the truth in how you feel. She has to know that you will never be here. My wolf spoke, his voice loud and clear.

Upon listening to him, I felt a sense of confidence fill my body. So, I straightened my back, and thought of something to say.

"You are not my mate! There is no reason for you to worry about me!" I declared upset at how she could do that to me.

At one point in time,

As the words fell from my mouth, I watched her expression change from concern to sadness.

The ache in my heart began expanding as the seconds without Anabelle were passing.

"Alpha, I know. I only want to ensure you're okay. There's no need for you to scream at me like that." She whispered, her voice tinged with anger.

"You're going to regret yelling at me" She seethed into my ear.

Then she turned on her heel and walked out the door, leaving my mind reeling.

What does she mean I'll regret it? Does she know something that I don't?

Anabelle's POV

As he left me here, my mind reeled from his words. "Why Moon Goddess! Do you want me to have a death wish!?" I screamed into the desolate cell.

Then, light started pouring in. Is it the next day? Or is something going to appear right next to me? I wondered as the sound of music came flittering in my ears.

After a while the song stopped playing, and I stood in the dark room with the strange hooded figure.

"Anabelle, there is no need to be scared." The mysterious figure spoke neutrally.

It's eyes bore into mine and the cloak fell off of it in a second of them standing there.

As Iooked at the mysterious person, I noticed their complexion was different from mine.

They had long flowing red hair, porcelain like skin, as well as eyes that were blue as the deepest ocean.

"Ana, you have to lower your head. The Moon Goddess is here." Gloria spoke, her voice filled with conviction.

"Alright, I will do that." I replied back, then did as she told me to.

I bowed my head respectfully which I was taught to do by the elders in my old pack.

"Who are you?" I questioned in awe of the sudden appearance of this strange woman.

Before she appeared, I was all alone in the dungeon. But now, I'm not.

After a brief moment, she responded.

"My name is Zerena. I am the Moon Goddess to all of the werewolves." She whispered, her voice low and calming.

My mouth dropped open at her declaration. I still couldn't believe that she was here.

Why is here though? She never appeared in front of anyone before. So why now? I pondered.

"The Moon Goddess? Aren't you not supposed to show yourself to this world?" I asked, needing to ensure that she was not a figment of my imagination.

While awaiting her response, I could hear the clank and clatter of the other people in the dungeon.

Are they listening into our conversation? Or are they trying escape from here? I wondered while observing the woman standing in front of me.

There was something about this woman that I can't comprehend. Then she spoke, her voice both calm and reassuring.

"I understand you're reluctant to trust me. But you don't need to fear. I am here to help you escape this dreadful place." She whispered, her voice filled with confidence.

Zerena walked closer to me and her steps reverberated the quiet echoes of the dungeon.

Then she paused a moment as if she was thinking of something to say.

Will what she wants to tell me, help me gain a better perspective on what to do? I pondered as she started speaking in an unknown language.

I have no clue. But the way she talks has my heart enclosed. I wondered as I observed her intently with my eyes.

"Touch my hand, and you will see I am real. Nothing about me is fake." She spoke, stretching her hand out.

While Zerena pushed her hand out in front of me, I peered at her, my face scrunched a little.

The way she held herself showed that she was above us. But there was something alluring about her. Something that I couldn't wrap my head around.

Gloria, do you believe she's telling the truth? I asked her, hoping to get reassurance. I wasn't ready to trust Zerena The Moon Goddess on her words.

She is, but for you to understand and recognize the truth, you're going to have to do what she said. Gloria replied, then without a second thought, I slowly placed my hand out.

"That's right, just grab my hand." Zerena spoke again as a smile appeared on her face.

Upon touching her hand, it was cold and slimy. Then out of nowhere, a flash of lightning appeared in front of my eyes.

Curious, I started walking toward it. "What's that? It was never here before!"
