A quiet yawn filled the stillness of the room.
The figure lying on the plush bed shifted for the first time in what felt like an eternity. She stretched her legs, her body twisting to the left and then to the right.
Her arms instinctively shot upward in a morning stretch— only to smack directly into the headboard.
"Ow!"
The groan that followed was muffled as she flicked her hand, trying to shake off the sting.
"Fricking..." she muttered, swallowing the curse just in time.
Her eyes fluttered open, revealing a pair of groggy yet vivid blue irises.
Cheska Reyes glared at the offending headboard as if it had personally wronged her.
So early in the morning, and I already want to swear, she thought, clicking her tongue in self-reprimand.
