In case it wasn't obvious, Cass wasn't a forgiving person. He never had been.
His childhood hadn't permitted it. He hadn't had the time, nor the power to give someone a second chance if they had fucked with him. Especially if it was a physical injury. Emotional hurts? Maybe, but physical? When food was scarce and you needed all of your limbs to be working and healthy?
Not a damn chance.
So not only had all of them walked all over his concerns, his warnings, and everything else, they had also hurt him.
Physically.
Even if the wound was apparently for his own good, that didn't mean shit.
No one had even offered an apology. They had instead sampled his fucking BLOOD like it was a fine liquor and called him a freak without saying the word.
Not only was Cass offended, he was hurt. Wounded both inside and outside.
