Only to get a General Idea...
It's not necessary to read it, you can jump directly to chapter 1... but if you like lore or have doubts later, here is a simplified structure of the world and power levels with images attached to the paragraphs.
♢♢♢♢
The World:
Imagine a world divided not by oceans or mountains, but by rifts so deep that no one has found their bottom. Two of them, to be exact: one overflowing with mana, the other so empty of power that almost all beasts avoid it.

♢♢♢♢
The Cities
It's in the city near the mana-void rift where we find our story, or more specifically, between the only two human cities that exist in this world. Viewed from above (if you're lucky enough to have a flying beast to take you that high), the cities form a curiously familiar pattern: a gigantic 'natural' Yin-Yang.
[Image: Aerial conceptual view of the two cities divided by the rift, forming a pattern similar to Yin-Yang, dimensions are not correct]
Contrast between Yano and Yino
Yano: The city of purity and tradition. Where one beast is enough (well, sometimes two, but don't tell anyone we mentioned that).
Yino: The city of experimentation. Where "more is more" and "why settle for two beasts when you can have three... or more?"
♢♢♢♢
The Rift
[Image:]
Imagine the Grand Canyon. Now imagine it a thousand times deeper and filled with beasts that would make a T-Rex look like a grumpy chihuahua.
The mana-void rift is so large it has its own ecosystem, climate, and according to some rumors, lost ruins. It's also the reason why the two cities haven't destroyed each other, turns out it's hard to invade your neighbor when there's an infinite abyss between you and just one bridge.

Our Protagonist
[Image: Ren with his luminescent mushrooms]
Among all this grandeur we have Ren, a boy who had the "luck" to receive supposedly the worst beast possible: a spore.
But hey, at least it glows in the dark!
Ren has three initial beasts waiting for their moment.

DOMINATION SYSTEMS
Yano
Traditional approach
Possibility of two beasts (rare but existent)
Emphasis on purity and control
Harmonious transformations

Experimental system
Development of multiple but weaker beasts (>3)
Use of abyssal power
Mutagenic transformations

ADDITIONAL NOTES
Beliefs about cultivation days vary by region and tradition
Each ring has its beast rank but different ring zones have their own characteristic beasts according to the surrounding ecosystem
Distance from the city affects mana density
Cultivation methods are specific to each beast type
Abyssal beasts technically aren't native to the mana-void rift. It's like putting fish in the desert... it makes no sense, but there they are!
Nobody knows who built the cities originally. The oldest records already show them there, as if the Yin-Yang was intentional.
Did we mention his mushrooms glow in the dark? Because that's important. Probably. Maybe. At least he saves on lamps!
