ARIANA'S POV.
I stared at the path as we walked through. It had various forks, veering off in different directions.
"You're to go forward." The spirits said, and the door was closed.
"I know this place." Sunny said, looking to one of the numerous paths on the left. "It leads to the sacred place for souls." His voice dropped to a more quiet one. "The place where your parents died. Maybe I should go alone. I was thinking I could do that stuff they talk about in novels. Like, connecting to the other vampires. Through my mind. Maybe if I can connect, then they'll come find us instead."
"I'll go with you." I said, bracing myself.
"You don't need to." Miguel said softly.
"I only regained the memories I have in the Palace. I want to remember what happened that day too. Let me see everything for myself." I insisted.
