He was declaring me as his mate? To everyone present? Seriously?
Jaws dropped and eyebrows shot to the sky, as the silence thickened. They had all assumed that I was his lover, yes, but his mate? They definitely did not see that coming.
"Any offence committed against her will not be forgiven by me, and it will not be taken lightly, so you should know how carefully you're to tread, and what you're choosing her as. A friend or an enemy. Choose your sides well. You may leave now, Claire." He added, and Claire bit her lip, looking at me with an expression I could not comprehend.
Well, she was finally understanding. Understanding why I had come into the picture, and why I had been able to do what she'd been unable to with ease.
