WE MAKE our way to the garage through the kitchen until we're outside, standing a few meters away from Marcus' car. A man who uncannily resembles Paul walks out of the driver's seat, taking lengthy strides toward us.
"You can give that plastic to him," Marcus says and I follow his orders before he turns to the driver. "I'll be coming in a while, I need to talk to her about something."

Turning back to me after we're alone, he doesn't waste any more time as promised. " I'll cut to the chase. Lucas told me the real relationship between you two that day."
I half close my eyes, slightly scrunching my nose. Lucas, that little shit! He assured me his Dad doesn't know a thing about us.
