The next morning, the first rays of sunlight filtered into the inn, casting a warm glow across the room where Fenrir, Mary Ann, and Rui prepared to head down for breakfast. Rui, however, wasn't one to let things slide easily.
"So," she began, crossing her arms and fixing Fenrir with a scrutinizing look, "are you going to tell us where you disappeared to last night?"
Mary Ann, sitting by the window and brushing her hair, glanced over, her expression curious but less accusing. "Yes, Fenrir. You were gone quite a while. It's not like you to wander off without saying something."
Fenrir, sitting in his wheelchair, smirked faintly. "What's this? Concern for my well-being? How touching." His tone was teasing, light enough to disarm but not so much that it felt dismissive.
Rui narrowed her eyes. "Don't dodge the question."
Fenrir chuckled softly, leaning back in his chair. "Oh, you'll find out soon enough. Let's not ruin the surprise, shall we?"
