Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: In an alley with the Count of Baruch Frontier - Part1

I had just arrived in King's Landing and was in a back alley looking for something. I tricked Shena, my lady-in-waiting, into leaving me and going off on my own.

Unlike the rural territory where I had lived until then, the streets of the royal capital are intricate. I found myself standing in an area where noble daughters are not allowed to set foot.

 --What should I do, I'm lost. ...

She was dressed like a town girl and her hair was dyed black. But because of her elegant mannerisms, she was inevitably thought to be the daughter of a rich man. Even when she wore a hat, her soft hair was sticking out in a fluffy way.

Still, as I searched for the store with the features I was told to look for, the street gradually became narrower and narrower. When I turned around to go back, I was surrounded by men blocking my way forward.

Having been spotted by the suspicious men, I was trapped with nowhere to run.

They were all looking at me and saying, "Hihi, hihi. I wonder if this white-skinned young lady is from a nice place.

Look at you, you have a pretty mouth."

The men with their tongues licking are about to pounce on me.

No, please don't do that. ... I'm looking for something, so please get out of my way."

The men were blocking my eyes, and my voice was muffled with fear against the wall. The men approached with a sneering smile.

I clasped my hands in front of my chest and tried not to shake, but it was clear that I was afraid of them.

Hey, we'll show you the place.

"No, no, no! Don't touch me.

Just as my arm was about to reach out and touch his shoulder, a tall man happened to be walking by and said to me, "Hey, you guys!

Hey, you guys, my daughter doesn't like it."

What the hell, you ..., hihi."

The suspicious-looking men looked at the taller one and all of them shrank their bodies with a "hiccup. They changed their attitude as if they were animals being watched by a beast stronger than themselves, but only one of them spoke up to offer resistance.

He asked us for directions. ... That's none of your business.

Is it?"

A low voice falls from above my head. I looked up for help and saw that the tall man's face was covered in a black haze.It was an unbelievable amount of it.

Eh?"

The thickest, blackest haze I have ever seen. It was so condensed that I couldn't make out the shape of his face. In this case, it was more like a curse or something than exhaustion.

As soon as I show my surprised face, the man reaches out his hand. I say, "No," and brush his hand away. At the same time, the taller of the two steps in between us to protect my body.

'My daughter doesn't seem to want to be touched by you guys.'

With a low voice, he grabbed the man's shoulders. With his quick movement, the suspicious men stopped moving. At the same time, they were bathed in the aura of overwhelming strength and trembled like frogs staring at a snake.

'Wow, okay,... I ain't done nothing to this guy,... so let me off the hook.'

The men backed away, raising their hands in a pose of surrender. So much so that the tall man struck fear into them.

He was so tall that he was giving them a fright. I'm going to ask you one thing...do you know about the witch?"

The witch? No, I don't know her.

Well, go on, then. If you are going to stay here, I will listen to you until you tell me the rest of your sins.

The taller man glared at them and the men quickly left the place. Apparently, he had a high ability to sense personal danger.

Seeing the suspicious men leave, I put my hand on my chest in relief. Then the taller one turned and called out to me.

'This is a dangerous area for a young lady like you, so go quickly.

Up close, he is a rather large man. The clothes he wears are simple but look like military uniforms made of fine fabrics, reminding me of his noble position. Standing with his back straight, he has a dignified appearance that overwhelms the viewer.

His face is still obscured by the haze, but he smiles, summoning up the courage to thank me for saving him.

He said, "Um, ... thank you for saving me."

Then he clears his throat and says, "Ugh," puzzled.

What, did I do something funny? ... and as I stared at him, the man let slip a few words.

'Aren't you afraid of my face?'

'Scared? ...No, I'm not afraid.'

Before I could say I was afraid, I couldn't see his face. I want to get rid of that black blur, but I can't suddenly pay for the face of someone I've never met before.

The moment you look up, you suddenly fall to the ground as if your knees are broken.

Ah!

Then, his arms go around my torso and hold me up before I almost hit the ground. His muscular arms hold me down, and I hear my heart skip a beat.

Are you okay?"

Yes. ... I'm sorry, I can't get my knees up."

When I hear his low voice in my ear, my heart starts pounding loudly. The blood seems to rush to your face when you feel his body heat close to you.

I'm sorry, I guess I'm starting to freak out now."

Then the man asks, "Are you okay?" He is asking me if I'm all right. A strong arm was wrapped around my stomach.

I was still in danger in this area. If you are not afraid of me, I can take you to the ... carriage.

'Oh, ha ... thank you. But I'm ..., Kyah!"

As soon as I responded, he reached behind my knees and hugged me to his side. The first thing to do is to make sure that you have a good understanding of what you're doing.

I could walk on my own! I can walk by myself.

But if you don't have any strength in your knees, you'll be safer this way.

But, but ... it must be so heavy.

"Ha ha, I'm light as a feather, so I'll be fine.

The man laughs cheerfully and continues onward. I hold his neck firmly and pull my body close to him so that I don't fall off. The man's sturdy physique does not waver. Feeling his strong arms and thick chest plate, my heart began to beat like a fast bell.
