Chapter 14 - were nothing more than five acient deadly animals

---

Xion stood still, staring in disbelief at the chaos unfolding before him. He had just encountered a figure creating strange, terrifying animals that defied his understanding of the natural world. One by one, the creatures charged at him, testing his limits.

The first beast was a massive bear with a face that seemed too short for its hulking body. "A short-faced bear," Xion muttered under his breath, reading the name that appeared in his mind. It roared, shaking the air around him, and charged with thunderous steps.

Reacting swiftly, Xion raised his hand, summoning a shimmering barrier around him. The bear collided with it, snarling in frustration, but the barrier retaliated, forming spikes that pierced the beast. With a pained roar, the bear collapsed lifelessly.

No time to rest. A new creature emerged—a colossal sea serpent-like beast with elongated jaws. "Basilosaurus," Xion whispered, the name forming unbidden in his mind. The monstrous creature surged forward, its sheer size casting a shadow over him.

Xion leapt into the air, creating a barrier beneath his feet to lift himself higher. From this vantage point, he conjured another barrier, shaping it into a sharp blade. "Decapitation Strike!" he shouted, hurling the blade downwards. The barrier blade sliced clean through the creature's massive neck, silencing it before it could react.

He landed with precision, barely catching his breath when a swift, deadly bird sprinted toward him. "Terror bird," he murmured, noting its razor-sharp beak and powerful legs. Though it couldn't fly, the creature's speed made it a formidable threat.

With a sharp motion, Xion infused his hand with energy. "Infi-Barrier Deadly Type: Sword Barrier!" he declared, his barrier morphing into a glowing sword. With pinpoint accuracy, he hurled the blade at the bird, striking it down mid-charge.

But the attacks didn't stop. Another creature appeared, its saber-like teeth glinting in the light. "Saber-toothed tiger," Xion noted, bracing himself as the beast let out a deafening roar. It lunged, but he sidestepped effortlessly, summoning a crushing barrier that enveloped the tiger in a moment, reducing it to nothing.

Before he could catch his breath, the ground rumbled beneath him. A towering beast with massive curved tusks charged forward. "Woolly mammoth," Xion said, a flicker of unease crossing his face.

The mammoth's sheer size and weight made it hard to avoid. Its tusks clipped his side, sending him stumbling backward. Blood trickled down his arm. Wiping it away with a grimace, he stood taller, his rage igniting his power.

"That's enough!" Xion bellowed. Raising his hand, he summoned an enormous barrier that shimmered with crackling energy. "Infi-Barrier: Crush Impact!" The mammoth let out a final bellow as the barrier crushed it under its weight.

The dust settled, and Xion turned toward the figure responsible for the onslaught. A man with a sinister grin stood before him, his long coat swaying dramatically.

"So, you've dealt with five of my ancient beasts," the man said, his voice dripping with mockery. "Not bad, Xion. But these were nothing more than my warm-up act."

Xion's eyes narrowed as he tightened his grip on his sword barrier. "Who are you?"

"John Kazama," the man replied, his smirk widening. "The creator of these beasts… and your worst nightmare."

Kazama raised his hand, and the earth beneath them cracked and trembled. From the darkness, more monstrous creations emerged, each more horrifying than the last.

Xion steadied himself, his barriers swirling around him like a protective storm. He planted his feet firmly, eyes blazing with determination. "I don't care how many you send, Kazama. One by one, I'll destroy them all—and then I'll take you down."

Kazama laughed, his voice echoing in the chaos. "Let's see if your resolve can match my power, Xion. This is only the beginning!. Oh and the monsters were nothing more than five acient deadly animals"

Xion dashed forward, barriers forming and shifting like living weapons around him as he faced the monstrous army head-on. The battle was far from over.
