CHAPTER FOUR
Nova's POV
The beeping of the monitor machine disrupts my peace as I try to pry my eyes open. An unknown source of pain jabs at the side of my stomach as I lift my limbs. My eyes flutter open, meeting with a white roofing and white walls. I struggle to sit upright but as I put my weight on my palm, I feel a needle pricking the back of my hand. I turn to the side of my hand where I'm feeling the pain and my eyes meet with a drip inserted into the back of my hand.
I sigh, slowly placing all my weight on my other elbow before moving upwards to sit properly. I rub my throbbing temples and yawn, looking around the white room with transparent curtains for any familiarity.
Alighting from the bed with all of the strength I can muster, I remove the syringe that's attached to my hand and hiss from the pain that attacks the back of my hand.
