Chapter 5 - Flushed.

Tom kept low, his eyes fixed on the two guards approaching the jeep. One was a woman holding a cigarette, her posture lazy and uninterested.

"Why would anyone start the engine and just leave it running?" she muttered, exhaling a puff of smoke.

Her partner, a stern-looking man, rolled his eyes. "Because someone's probably trying to steal it, idiot. That's why we're checking it out."

The woman glared at him, flicking her cigarette onto the ground. "I'm not an idiot," she snapped, her tone sharp with irritation.

Tom watched them carefully, waiting for the right moment. Just as they came close enough, he moved like a flash, catching them off guard.

He struck the woman on the neck with precision, and she dropped to the ground instantly, unconscious. The man barely had time to react before Tom hit him as well, locking his arm around the man's neck and choking him into unconsciousness. Both guards were down in seconds.

Tom turned to Tasha, his voice calm but firm. "Take her uniform. We need to blend in."

Tasha's eyes widened in shock. "What? You want me to—right here?"

Tom was already pulling off the male guard's jacket and slipping into the uniform. "Yes. We'll be spotted if we don't move fast."

Tasha hesitated, her cheeks turning red. "I can't just... change out here! You're standing right there!"

Tom didn't even look up as he adjusted the uniform. "I'll turn around."

Tasha fidgeted, clearly uncomfortable, but the urgency in his voice made her nod reluctantly. "Fine. Just... don't look!"

Tom turned his back, keeping watch for any more guards. Tasha quickly began changing, her hands trembling as she pulled on the uniform. She kept glancing nervously over her shoulder, though Tom stayed focused on the surroundings.

When she finished, she huffed in embarrassment, her face still red. "I'm done here."

Tom turned back, his expression as calm as ever. "Let's move," he said flatly, dragging the unconscious guards into the back of the jeep.

He climbed into the driver's seat, motioning for her to get in. "The militia is spread out through the jungle," he explained as he started the engine. "Wearing their uniform will save us a lot of trouble."
