Chapter 2 - Cost of Betrayal

The whole area in that part of the forest was quiet as if waiting for the next of the next occupants. The surprised looks on their faces gave away the situation, no one expected this.

Circe held Willow's head against her chest with a knife against Willow's throat. "Give Seraphina the Pet and she goes unharmed." She said as she swallowed a heavy lump down her throat as she struggled to keep Willow from moving with her trembling hands. But everyone was so shocked that they just stared at them.

Agitated, she pushed the gauntlet into Willow's shoulder, ripping the flesh on her skin, causing Willow to scream in agony.

"Have you lost your damned mind?" Willow screamed as she pushed herself away from Circe, but the gauntlet only penetrated her skin, shredding off more skin. Some part of her collarbone was visible as blood flowed from her wounds. Not giving up, Willow squirmed, but Circe's grip was very strong. It must have been an effect of the gauntlet, and it's feeding off her blood.

'When did she even bring that out? Sly! Conniving Slut!!' Willow cursed as she tried her best not to pass out.

"Zephyr! You morons!" Willow said as she pushed herself away from Circe. Gritting her teeth as the gauntlet ripped through all the flesh on her right shoulder. Freeing herself.

"You're dead, "Willow said in a raspy voice as her fingers turned into strange claws and launched straight for Circe's throat.

"Mom!" Seraphina called out as she sprung up leaving the magic circle and destroying the runes that encompassed. "Mom!" She called her weakly.

What was once Willow, six feet tall feathered entity stood tall and upright casting an eerie shadow and the claws clasped around Circe's neck as the color quickly left her body and her hair fell off and the hands that grabbed Willow's Entity quickly lose their grip.

'Seraphina had long left the magic circle as she ran for her mom or would I say my mom.' Zephyr thought as he watched her run to Willow's Entity. 'She said I should I stay in the circle but they are both blinded by anger should I separate the both of them? How much good do these runes do at the end of the day?'

While still torn by a decision he had to make, Seraphina reached his mom's entity and pounced on her hitting her chest as she cried while Willow's Entity stared at Willow's son's direction but behind him. The dark presence that hovered behind him watching them and doing nothing.

'That foolish son wants this botch to kill his mom or what?' Willow's Entity questioned as she stared at him with spite as Seraphina kept hitting her. 'Does he want me to finish off the family?'

With the little commotion that was caused, Kaelan just watched, looking for their intentions. 'I noticed a call and came over,I never expected so many pests gathered in one place. There was a powerful energy coming from here with great intent. I just wonder who is it.

It's most like one of the two kids that were in the conjuring circle. It could also be the people gathered behind them but the strong ones are already bonded, what a shame?

But that bird one is quite interesting, is that thing supposed to be found in this area? Killing someone that easily, surely not the first. And the pest that beating her does she think that will do any damage or what. Whether her hands or a weapon, she can't defeat that thing except he bonds with an Entity and one higher than that. It's a shame to think she was one of the conjurers, a weak mind, a weak body and wants to harbour great beings.

The boy is a good candidate but he is not leaving the circle so I can't even reach to him or talk to him. I thought I would be able to get something with the enticing energy that came from here but it seems all of it came from the bird and now due to the amount of energy that was sent, the less powerful beings that would have being beneficial to the candidates have being scared away. If they stay longer, they'll attract the bigger goons. I will have to keep roaming till I find a perfect mind and body.'

Kaelan thought as he started making his leave when a strong urge came over it like a huge vacuum was sucking up everything on it's path was trying to suck him in, no enticing him to jumb down the rabbit hole. Yes, the vacuum was more of a rabbit hole. Are you curious enough to take a chance.

"So it was not the bird." Kaelan said and big black cloud quickly gathered over them as of a heavy rain was about fall over that part of the forest.

'Leeched on my family with every opportunity that showed itself and even created opportunities for such! The moment they get their chance at life, does not hesitate to threaten the life of their saviour, friend and when reprimanded for their actions. Act like they were not begging for it...' Zephyr stopped in front of his mother's entity as Seraphina was doing all her best to injure it with her daggers. Zephyr calmly took her hands which she resisted as she swung the blades in a haphazard manner. To which Zephyr responded with twisting her hands making her arms hang from her shoulder with her flesh being the thing holding her arms from falling off her body as her arms were disconnected from her shoulder bone. Causing her to stare at him in shock as she screamed at the top of her lungs as hot tears flowed from her eyes rolling down her cheeks telling a story of their own.

While he stared at the yes of his mother's entity. Was she scared, disgusted, angry to deal with this that she retreated? Or did she think that spthey were not enough for her to deal with them, small fries?

'But she looks hurt? What did they do that I know? The mother I know would not be affected to this extent not even her husband. I will end it for you you have done your path.'

Zephyr bent down and pulled out the dagger in Seraphina's right hands. "He who wields a sword should be ready to die by the sword." He said as he placed her dagger against her throat and before she could release another set of screams. He slit her throat causing a projectile of blood flowed and poured on his mother's entity's face but he quickly pushed the body away as he gently wiped the blood away from the entity's face.

"You may not get a Companion." A raspy voice with many echoes said coldly as he wiped off the blood its face.

"That does not mean that I will let you be insulted for your good heart. It was called for." Zephyr replied.

A thick yellow liquid could be seen gathered over her lower eyelid and rolled down her cheeks as she placed her forehead in his, slowly breathing as she whimpered silently crying.

Kaelan slowly approached Zephyr and placed his right hand on his right shoulder as his physical form slowly and beautifully condensed to the spot Kaelan touched him. A strange feeling filled the boy's body as the being entered his body coming. The slow moments passed quickly as his brain tried to process everything that was happening but could not keep up as many things bombarded him as once, information that made no sense and could not understand, feelings he could not describe, memories that he could not access. It was evident that the being that now shared this body with him was way bigger than him in every encompass. With the overwhelming sensations that took over him, it was more like, he was a prisoner to his own body due to the grandeur of this new entity.

Pain started kicking in as his body was reaching it's breaking point. His body has been stressed to an unthinkable amount. It felt like his body was tearing apart and he was watching breakdown so quickly but the pain was so much that he could not understand the passing off time. He did not struggle to keep his consciousness as fell.

'My sister was once of weak mind, feeble conviction but she has grown and is teaching her son as well. I am happy. Now, we have two less people to worry about. They may have being an unimportant piece but could have been very annoying as time went on.' The Priest thought as he saw the dark mist quickly enter his nephew's body and the boy falling down almost immediately. Willow's Entity quickly fell on its knees as it carried the boy like a suckling child and placed its head on his head as the yellow thick fluid ran down its face.
