Tian had already identified three upgrades that he wanted the most at the moment. These were upgrades that would help him become strong in the long run.
The first upgrade was spiritual sense. It only cost 1 upgrade point and allowed the cultivator to visually see the spiritual force.
Second upgrade was lesser spiritual force control. This upgrade cost him three points and would give him a great control over his own Qi and a medium control over the spiritual force present in nature.
The third upgrade was the one that he wanted the most. It only cost two upgrade points but it could be said to most overpowered upgrade out of all the upgrades available.

He would invest 1 point for Spiritual sense, 3 points for lesser spiritual force control and 2 points for Qi suction which expanded his Qi absorption radius by 20 Meters.
Tian quickly bought all three upgrades as he felt the world spinning for a moment. There was burning sensation in his eyes. His whole body felt ticklish as slowly his body was being upgraded.
Tian endured through the pain and after a few seconds which felt like hours, he opened his eyes. The view was normal for now, he slowly guided the qi to flow from his dantian into his eyes as his eyes glowed bright yellow. The qi was just as trigger for the ability as he could now see all different kinds of energies floating in the atmosphere like smoke.
The ground had the most spiritual force and most of the force was white in color.
His own spiritual force was yellow in color and he could also see that the white force would change to yellow as the auto cultivating of Purification sutra absorbed the white spiritual force into his body.
He finally decided to try out the idea that he thought of for cultivating faster.
Tian took a deep breath as he stood there on the grass in horse stance. Slowly he focused as he could feel the spiritual force around him in 20 meter radius slowly move and flow towards his body.
This area was even larger than the house they were living in as he activated spiritual force control. The spiritual force of the whole area slowly started floating towards him as he activated the 1.5 times speed of the auto cultivation.
Soon he saw that his Qi points were swiftly rising. 100, 200, 300...in about an hour, he was already at the peak of Qi gathering first later.
There was a bottle neck at the first layer but Tian felt as if it didn't exist for him as the auto cultivation simply gave him a notification.

There were yes or no options given as Tian quickly clicked yes. his qi started reinforcing the outer wall of the dantian while slowly pushing against the it at the same time. His Qi storage doubled as the space inside his dantian slowly expanded. the outer wall was tougher and his dantian now could contain more QI than before.
As it all finished, Tian checked the system and now he had 2000 points of Qi storage in his dantian. Slowly the storage also started filling up.
100 points, 200 points, 300 points, after he absorbed about 700 points, the qi absorption slowed down. tian could see clearly that the Qi floating in the atmosphere had thinned out.

Tian observed the atmosphere as he saw that white spiritual force in the atmosphere was almost all absorbed by him. it was slowly being replenished by the spiritual force from the ground and he estimated that it would take a whole day for this place to recover the spiritual force.
"I can not let this place tie me down, I need to travel and absorb the spiritual force from multiple places to become overpowered. if I can cultivated with the current speed, I would achieve peak of Qi gathering in no time at all " tian thought to himself as he looked at the walls of house. it would not be easy to leave from here as there was a Qi gathering level general on guard duty and many high level body refining Soldiers keeping watch all around the house.
He decided to wait for a good opportunity to sneak out as he went inside his room and fell asleep. his brother Chen was cultivating as tian subtly guided a huge amount of spiritual force towards him. Chen's cultivation progressed faster and after few hours of cultivation, Chen too decided to sleep as it was late into the night.
Next day Tian and Chen both woke up early to cultivate. they were also given three spirit stones each by the nirvana temple monks to recover the spiritual force so that more people can be treated. Tian faked the surprised expression for seeing the spirit stones for the first time as he already had quite a few spiritual stones on hand. he already had 9 spirit stones hidden in his robe so he insisted that his brother Chen receive the stones form his share. in the end, Chen accepted four stones as he forced Two spirit stones in Tian's hand.
they both started treating the people after breakfast and used the spirit stones to recover their Qi after each treatment. after treating five patients, Tian checked his upgrade points. he now had three upgrade points. The upgrade points were for progressing from Qi gathering first stage to Qi gathering second stage. He decided to save them for now for any unexpected situation.
General Yan would take a break after five patients to check the next 10 patients. It was important to check weather the patients posed any threat to the monks. suddenly there was a commotion at the gate as a monk walked in with the soldiers. he was holding a baby in his hand as he stopped in front of the house in which Tian and Chen were treating the patients.
"Chen! take a look at this baby! its sick and is about to die!"
General Yan quickly opened the door as Chen walked out with Tian as they all looked at the monk. "Chen, Do you know this monk?" General Yan asked as she stood in between stairs to block the way of the monk.
Behind the monk, many more monks entered, some of them sick with black spots on different organs. some were supporting sick people while some were carrying children in their arms. the monk in the lead finally spoke in a hoarse voice.
"These are the children of the commoners living outside the walls, the elderly and the parents of these children have already accepted their fate but as monks, we can not watch them die in front of our eyes. "
Chen slowly walked up to General Yan "These are the monks that were accompanying us. I know them so please allow us to treat these children first."
"Are you sure about it? old people might be able to handle the pain but its a whole different story for children. you might end up killing someone. " General Yan said as she moved out of the way and gestured the soldiers to escort the children one by one inside the room as Chen decided to first take a look at the small baby.
The baby was barely breathing as It's hand and feet had turned black. the children were crying and holding their own the infected limbs which turned black and stopped working. Tian activated his spiritual force sensing eyes as he could now see the faint blackish grey smoke around each and every children. the smoke was thickest at the affected limb and he found it much easier to guide his spiritual force inside the Patients body with this ability active.
Although he had activated this ability for the sake of convenience, he soon saw something that scared him out of his wits. One of the boys about five years old was radiating a terrifying amount of black smoke. it was as if he was at the center of the disaster as tian saw that the grey smoke was slowly absorbed by the small boy into his body as it was released from other children.
as soon as he noticed this, he saw a golden notification light up in front of him.
