Chapter 66 - The Family Healed

The sun rose over the estate, casting a warm golden light on the grounds. For the first time in what felt like years, the house was quiet—not with tension, but with peace. The events of the past few weeks had tested everyone, but now there was hope for healing and unity.

Amelia woke early, the soft cries of the twins pulling her from sleep. She smiled as she walked into the nursery, finding Lucas already there, cradling one of the babies.

"You're up early," she said, leaning against the doorframe.

Lucas looked up, his tired eyes full of love. "I couldn't resist. They're growing so fast."

Amelia moved to pick up the other baby, marveling at how small and perfect they were. "They're a reminder of why we've fought so hard. This family is worth saving."

Downstairs, the family began to gather for breakfast. Martin was seated at the head of the table, a rare smile on his face. "It feels good to have everyone together again," he said as Amelia and Lucas joined them, the twins safely in their bassinets nearby.

Even Victoria's absence, though bittersweet, had brought a sense of relief. The constant power struggles and manipulations had weighed on everyone, and now they could focus on rebuilding trust.

Sofia, who had always kept a low profile during the turmoil, spoke up. "We've been through so much. I think it's time we stop looking at each other as rivals and start acting like the family we're supposed to be."

Amelia nodded. "She's right. The world is watching us, and they'll use any sign of weakness against us. We need to stand together."

Lucas raised his glass. "Then let's make a pact. No more secrets, no more lies. If we have issues, we bring them to the table. This family will only survive if we trust each other."

Everyone raised their glasses, the clink of crystal symbolizing a fresh start.

Amelia couldn't help but feel a surge of hope. For the first time, she saw a future where the family wasn't just surviving—they were thriving. She turned to Martin. "What's next for us?"

Martin leaned back in his chair, a thoughtful look on his face. "We focus on our legacy. We've spent too much time fighting among ourselves. It's time to rebuild the family's name, not just in business but in the community."

The rest of the day was spent making plans. Amelia and Lucas worked on organizing charitable initiatives, hoping to repair the family's public image. Sofia and Martin focused on restructuring the business, ensuring that everyone had a role to play.

As night fell, Amelia found herself sitting on the balcony with Lucas, the twins sleeping soundly nearby.

"Do you think we can really do this?" she asked, her voice tinged with doubt.

Lucas took her hand. "We've been through worse. If we can survive everything that's happened, we can handle anything. Besides, we have each other."

The next morning, the family was gathered in the living room when a knock at the door interrupted their meeting. The butler walked in, looking uneasy. "There's someone here to see you," he said, handing Martin a small envelope.

Martin opened it and frowned. "It's from Victoria."

Everyone froze.

"She wants to meet," Martin said, his voice filled with skepticism.

Amelia's stomach twisted. "Why now? What could she possibly want?"

Lucas shook his head. "It's probably another one of her games. We should ignore her."

But Martin held up a hand. "If she has something to say, we need to hear it. This could be our chance to put an end to all the unfinished business."

Later that evening, as the family debated whether or not to meet Victoria, a package arrived at the estate. Amelia opened it cautiously, her heart pounding as she pulled out its contents.

Inside was a single item—a photograph. It was old and faded, showing a young Victoria standing next to a man Amelia didn't recognize. But it wasn't the photo itself that sent chills down her spine—it was the note attached.

"You think you've won. But the truth is, the real enemy has been here all along."

Amelia's hand trembled as she passed the note to Lucas. His face darkened as he read it.

"What does this mean?" Amelia asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Lucas stared at the photo, his jaw tightening. "It means Victoria might not be the only threat we need to worry about."

As the shadows deepened outside, Amelia felt a familiar sense of dread. Just when they thought the storm had passed, it seemed a new one was brewing—one that could destroy everything they had fought so hard to protect.
