Chapter 1 - Prologue

Two men were fighting within a ring. The match was intense as they both gave it there all. This was no ordinary match though, it was a power match. Both contenders were using their affinities to take out the other, one using burst of power to deal powerful blows and the other seemed to have fire flying off his punches.

'Grunt'

The man using fire seemed to be on the ropes. He was tall with black hair and dark crimson eyes. His skin was like milky chocolate as his muscles rolled under his flesh.

"Tch, COME ON KARMA!!"

A teenage boy shouted from the crowd as he stood up. The boy had raven black hair and black eyes with a purple hue to them. It had been a while since someone was able to pin Karma down like this but Kai knew that the fight was not over.

'Come on. All this dude uses are burst of power to catch his opponent off guard, all Karma has to do is find a gap when he doesn't use his affinity and take advantage of it.'

Kai's thoughts were frantic as he analyzed every moment of the fight.

As the fight was getting more and more intense Karma was also trying to figure out ways to defeat his opponent, And at that moment he heard Kai's shout.

"God dammit." Karma whispered to himself.

Karma had always been the type to be on offense, so the position he was in right now was pissing him off. But he was also the type to never go down without a fight, And at that moment Karma finally grasped it. A huge smile appeared on his face showing his shark-like teeth. The next time his opponent paused between attacks Karma lunged at him and connected with a devastating Right hook.

He followed it up with a uppercut that sent sparks flying out. His opponent was sent flying back landing on the other side of the ring, which was considerable seeing as the ring was a circle and about 30 meters across.

But Karma wasn't done yet. He dashed towards his opponent not letting him get to his feet and kicked him right in the gut, sending him flying dozens of feet in the air.

"Match Point." Kai said with a grin on his face

At that same moment Karma mustered all his strength and jumped up above his opponent, clasped his hands together and brung down a devastating blow on his opponent. The whole action looked like a enormous hammer rammed into the guy. Karma's opponent slammed into the ground causing cracks to spread from the area of impact. And a few seconds later Karma landed on the ground next to his opponent. He looked down and noticed his opponent's eyes were rolled in the back of his head, and raised his arm above his head, declaring that he had won.

At the same time the announcer screamed out.

"I can't believe it!! Jack the Ripper has been defeated!? Our new champion of the stadium is Karma!!"

The crowd raged with cheers excited to see a new champion emerge. And at the same time Kai headed down to where Karma's locker room was. As he made his way down he could still hear the crowd chanting.

"KARMA, KARMA, KARMA"

'I guess that bastard really did get karma." Kai thought to himself.

The man Karma defeated, Jack the Ripper has been the champion of the stadium ever since it first started up. He's also the number one Donor to the whole operation. So the fact that Karma had a chance to fight him, let alone beat him is a prize of its own. Eventually Kai reached Karmas locker room, knocked on the door and went inside. The room wasn't too fancy, just a couch a bathroom and a vanity where contestants patched themselves up. Kai greeted Karma as he walked in letting him know that it was him.

"Yo, crazy fight, huh?"

Karma glanced at him with a dubious look then stood up and went to Kai to do their hand shake.

"Meh, Nothing really the whole first part of the fight I was really just trying to get a grip of his affinity."

Kai spoke after him.

"Really now? Cause I coulda sworn he had you up against the ropes until the very end." Kai said with a teasing tone.

Karma choked then retorted back.

"Like I said, I was analyzing him. Hehe."

Kai glanced at him with a not so convinced expression.

"Yeah, yeah. Either way you should be proud of yourself, I know Seiren would."

Karma looked at Kai with a suprised expression.

"Whoa don't go getting all sentimental on me. I just did what I had too. It's Nothing to serious."

Kai chuckled.

"You know it's more than just a win. Thanks to this we finally have enough money to register for the Recruitment Exams, Join the Stalwart Sovereignty, and hopefully do what were going there to do."

Karma glanced at him with a somber look.

"Yea bro for sure. But don't go thinking I'm gonna always be there to protect you."

Kai gave him a confused look.

"Huh!? It's always me protecting you."

Karma chuckled then glanced at Kai.

"Were gonna have to protect eachother out there even more. Are you sure your ready that?"

Kai looked down then looked back up at Karma with a grin.

"Born ready."

Karma then looked down and began collecting his things. It wasn't much, just a few collectibles, the things he used to patch himself up and a change of clothes. Once he was done he gestured to Kai that it was time to go and headed to the front desk to collect his reward. After that they made their way out of the stadium.

On the other side of the stadium Jack the Ripper's locker was in shambles. It looked like a tornado had passed through, throwing everything around and breaking many expensive looking items. A younge man spoke out nervously.

"I-It's ok boss your still the best. T-That kid just got lucky thats all."

At that moment a fist was sent barreling at his face, but just barely grazed his cheek. Blood fell out of the wound rolling down his face. Then Jack the Ripper's harsh voice could be heard, piercing the young mans ears like a blade.

"No, thats luck."

Jack paused for a moment then continued letting the young man he attacked relax a bit.

"I had him pinned yet he somehow managed to come back and win it. How do you explain that?"

Another man in the room spoke out.

"There is a chance he was using an AED. But thats just an assumption, sir."

Jack spoke after him, his voice even more piercing now than before.

"Are you implying that a kid juiced up on drugs is enough to defeat me?"

The mans eyes filled with terror as he tried to think of something to say.

"N-No. Of course not sir. I'm just saying that it is the only logical explanation for him beating someone as great as you. And we did see a boy visit his locker room after the match. That could very well be his supplier."

Jack lowered his dreadful gaze and pondered the statement for a while. Then spoke out with a considering tone.

"Hm. I suppose that is true, but if that's the case we cannot let something like this slide…"

He paused for a moment then continued.

"Round up the men. We're gonna hunt us some rats."
