Chapter 25 - Hell's Pit, Day V

"Hey there, Flynn." Alfonze's voice broke the silence, casual as though they were just chatting, his words floating through the air.

"..!" Flynn shot up in a panic, his heart pounding wildly. His body froze for a second as he tried to make sense of the situation. What's going on?

He looked around and saw nothing but endless white. It stretched as far as his eyes could see in every direction. There was no floor, no walls—just this strange, empty space. It felt... wrong. Like he wasn't even supposed to be here.

Where am I? Flynn's mind raced, his breath coming in short gasps. Oh, wait, this is the place where Alfonze was!

But then, just as quickly as the panic hit, a sense of relief washed over him. Phew, I thought I had died out of exhaustion.

"Hah!" Alfonze's voice broke the silence again, light and amused. The black sphere floated in front of Flynn, almost like it was enjoying his reaction. "I never thought you'd manage to unlock two new skills from the system I made. Seems like she's taken a liking to you."

She? Flynn blinked, his confusion growing. The system? He stared at Alfonze, not sure what he was hearing. "A she?" he asked, his voice thick with disbelief.

"Yeah, didn't you know?" Alfonze asked, a grin stretching across his face. It was clear he was enjoying Flynn's confusion.

"Obviously not," Flynn shot back, irritation creeping into his voice. "You didn't even tell me."

"Hah!" Alfonze laughed, sounding way too pleased with himself. "Guess I didn't!"

Flynn rubbed his temples, trying to clear the confusion. "Okay, okay," he said, trying to focus. "What's going on? You said 'she' likes me… What does that even mean?"

Alfonze's tone shifted slightly. He paused, like he was about to drop something big. "I'm going to turn the system into your companion. She'll become human."

Flynn's jaw dropped. Wait, what? The words didn't make sense, but they were there, hanging in the air between them. "You're serious?" he asked, his voice full of disbelief. "You can actually do that?"

Alfonze puffed his chest out, clearly proud. "Nothing is impossible through me, Alfonze the Frajin."

Flynn stared at the black sphere, his mind still racing. Frajin? "Yeah, yeah, but what's a Frajin?"

Alfonze's smile didn't fade. "Oh? I thought you learned the language of this world."

"I did!" Flynn snapped, annoyance creeping in. Why is this coming up now?

"Then you should know," Alfonze said, his tone a little too smug.

Flynn crossed his arms, frustrated. "I promise you, 'Frajin' is not in the dictionary."

"Okay then, say it. Frajin." Alfonze commanded, like it was some sort of test.

"Fine... Frajin," Flynn muttered, not really knowing where this was going.

"Again."

"Frajin."

"Again."

"Frajin."

"Say it ten times."

Flynn groaned, but he did it. "Frajin. Frajin. Frajin. Frajin. Frajin. Frajin. Frajin. Frajin. Frajin..."

By the ninth time, his patience was wearing thin. But when the last word left his lips, something clicked. His eyes widened, and he froze. Wait... what?

"Frajin..." Flynn said, his voice much softer now, his brain racing. "D-doesn't that mean 'A Being Higher Than Gods'?"

Alfonze's grin grew even wider, as if this was exactly what he'd been waiting for. "Heh, yes, yes it does. In other words..." He dragged the words out for dramatic effect. "A 'Cosmic Being.'"

Flynn blinked, struggling to process what he just heard. His mind was spinning. Holy shit… A Cosmic Being? His thoughts were a mess. What the hell does that even mean for me?

Alfonze's voice cut through his confusion. "But do you know, Flynn?"

Flynn snapped back to the present, his mind still trying to catch up. "What?" he asked, voice shaky.

"You're also a Cosmic Being," Alfonze said, as straightforward as if he were explaining the weather.

The words hit Flynn like a ton of bricks. Wait, what? His eyes went wide, his heart skipping a beat. No way. No freaking way... "WHAT THE FAAACK!?" Flynn screamed, his disbelief turning into frustration. He jumped to his feet, fists clenched tightly. "But why? How? How the hell is that possible?"

Alfonze didn't seem phased. In fact, his tone was annoyingly calm. "Because… you are me."

Flynn's mind came to a screeching halt. What? His heart pounded harder as he tried to make sense of it. I'm what?

He stared at Alfonze, completely dumbfounded. "Wait... what the hell are you talking about? How the hell am I you?"

Alfonze merely shrugged, floating in mid-air like it was the most normal thing in the world. "Eh, don't overthink it. That's just the way it is."

Flynn stood frozen, his mind racing as he tried to process the impossible things Alfonze had just told him. This is insane... What does this even mean for me?

Alfonze's voice brought him back to reality. "Anyway, time for you to go back to the human world," he said, as if it was no big deal. "It's time."

"W-wait—" Flynn tried to protest, but before he could get another word out, the world around him started to shift and blur. The endless white void, the floating sphere, everything began to melt away into nothing.

"Not my fault you're in a rush," Alfonze's voice echoed, fading as the space around them collapsed. "Good luck, Flynn."

...!

Flynn's breath caught in his throat. He shot up, gasping for air, his heart hammering in his chest like he'd just run a marathon. What the hell just happened? He wiped the sweat off his forehead, trying to shake off the remnants of the nightmare that had just twisted through his mind.

But before he could catch his breath, a voice cut through the air—sharp, high-pitched, and unmistakably feminine.

"Master!!!"

Master? Flynn's eyes snapped open, his thoughts still a mess. The voice sounded familiar, but there was no time to process. His body was suddenly tackled, his chest getting squeezed as a figure rushed toward him.

The girl had long, silky red hair that flowed behind her like a streak of fire. One of her eyes was a deep, glowing red, while the other was a bright blue—almost unnatural. Flynn's mind raced. Wait, who the hell is this?

She squeezed him tight, cutting off his breath.

"Master! I was so worried!" Her voice was frantic, her grip tightening as she spoke. "You were lying there, unconscious! I thought you were dead!!!"

Tears streamed down her cheeks, each one falling like a silent plea. Flynn struggled to breathe, his chest constricting painfully from the tight hug. What is happening? Is this the system?

"Y-yeah... I'm fine..." Flynn managed to croak, voice weak and strained. He could barely catch his breath, but he forced himself to speak. "You... you should let go... I... I can't breathe..."

The girl immediately let go, stepping back, her face turning bright red with embarrassment.

"I-I'm sorry, Master!" she stammered, her eyes wide with panic as she looked at him.

Flynn took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. His mind was still reeling from the sudden shock of it all. She's... the system? But his thoughts kept spiraling. The strange girl—who looked so human—felt so familiar, yet completely out of place. Her red and blue eyes stared at him with such sincerity.

She reminds me of Jane...

Flynn looked around the cave they were in. It was dark, the air damp, but there was a small campfire crackling in the middle of the space. It looked like someone had set up camp here, and by the warmth in the air, it wasn't fresh. The fire had been going for a while.

How the hell... can she make a campfire inside a cave like this? There's barely any wood.

He rubbed his face, trying to push away the confusion. It didn't matter right now.

"Anyway," Flynn said, finally collecting his thoughts, "You're the system, right?"

The girl tilted her head, looking completely baffled. "Shystemh..?"

What? Did she just say— Flynn almost laughed but held it in, forcing a cough to cover his reaction. "N-no... never mind that..."

The girl stared at him, still confused, her head tilted like a curious animal. It was almost cute how lost she looked.

"...?" She blinked, waiting for Flynn to continue.

Flynn sighed, his patience thinning but trying to stay calm. "It's okay," he said, giving her a small, reassuring smile. "You can call me Flynn."

"Fyn...?" She furrowed her brow, her voice uncertain. She repeated it again, this time getting it slightly wrong. "Fynn?"

Flynn froze for a second, then shrugged. "W-well... you can call me that..." he muttered. His frustration was starting to build again. I don't even know what the hell is going on here...

The girl gave him a soft smile, her embarrassment still clear on her flushed face. "Okay, Fynn," she said, as if testing the name out.

Flynn rubbed his forehead, trying to fight the headache creeping in. I'm talking to the system... who is now somehow... human? His thoughts were spinning. And she seems... so innocent?

He glanced around the cave again, his mind trying to focus. I need to figure out what's happening here. How did I end up in this cave? Why is she calling me 'Master'?

The girl sat down by the fire, her eyes still locked on him, waiting for him to say something. There was a strange intensity in her gaze. It was like she was waiting for him to give her some kind of instruction.

"How... how long have you been here?" Flynn asked, still trying to process everything.

The girl blinked. "I... don't know," she said softly, her voice almost a whisper. "I've been waiting for you... I didn't know how long it would take... but I was waiting."

Flynn's frown deepened. "Waiting for me? But... how did you know I was coming?"

Her eyes darted away for a second, like she was trying to find the right words. "I... I was created for you," she said, as if it was the simplest thing in the world.

Flynn was silent for a long moment, his mind finally catching up with her words. Created for me? What does that even mean?

"Wait... wait," Flynn said, his voice coming out sharp as realization hit him. "So you... you're the system that I've been using? The one who gave me the skills?"

She nodded, her red and blue eyes glowing softly in the dim light. "Yes, I was designed to help you. To guide you."

Flynn rubbed his temples, trying to process it all. This is insane. She's the system... now a human?

He stood up, pacing around the cave as he tried to think. I don't get it. What am I supposed to do now? What does this mean for me?
