"How was school today?"an aged old man around his late forties,working on something in a lab looking four cornered room,asked a young girl who's around her early teens as she walked into the room.
"Um..uh..today?"she chuckled nervously.
"School?"he turned to her and raised and eyebrow
"Uh..oh,that....school"she dragged her words"yea.it was awesome...spectacular"she replied in the coolest manner
"You didn't go to school,did you?"
"Uh"chuckles"Ba....i did"
"Oh Akhira!?"
"Baba...i did go to school,trust me"
"Then why looking thrashed?"
"Oh..well...funny story..."
"You got in trouble for fighting again....didn't you Akhira"he interrupted and questioned her."i got a call from the principal complaining about you,yet again"he said sadly
"Darn it"she swore silently"Did he tell you how Marcus started it?"
"Does it matter,you're down to your last warning Akhira"
"Ba i know,but,i wanna become a fighter,like mama was,a warrior,like she was fearless and strong"she smiled.the room was silent causing her smile to fade.
"Where did that lead her to"he asked trying to break the silence with traces of sadness in his voice,she looked down sad."Akhira"he walked towards her putting his hands on her shoulder."i don't want to lose you like we lost your mom,she may be dead,but,her spirit lingers on,and if she sees how poorly i'm raising you..."
"But Ba...."he raised up his hand gesturing her to be silent."you're raising me just fine"she said to herself.
"I just want you to be safe"he smiled and so did she.
"I know"she hugged him as tightly as she could then ran up to her room.Her father watched her and sighed
"Why leave us sakura?"
When Akhira got to her room,she was warmly welcomed by a little furball.
"Kura" she laughs and he licks her face excitedly"Kura,you're getting saliva all over my face"he whimpered"aww,did i hurt you,sorry....you know i can never be mad at you.....i know,its normal for you,you just can't help it.sorry"his face brightened and he wagged his tail
Kura is Akhira's pet,gifted to her by her mother making it obvious why he's named Kura.
"Baba's always worried i'll get myself hurt,fighting or something like that Kura"she said jumping onto her bed followed by Kura"i need to prove to him that i could fend for myself and be trusted"she said hitting her fists on her palm"you trust me don't you Kura"she asked her cute furball and he gave a happy "woof"wagging his tail."i know you do"she ruffled his fur and stroked him.She looked out the window and watched as a mama blue bird fed her babies"if only mama was here,and she hadn't died doing what she loved most,then,Ba would have had more faith in me".Kura looked up at her and gave a soft whine trying to cuddle her and seeking attention.She sighed.
The next morning,Akhira was still in bed,the early morning birds were already up singing their allocated verses of the morning song.
"Chirp,Chirp,Chirp"and"tweet,tweet,tweet".Squirrels were scurring around,birds who weren't part of the morning choir were flying here and there,and,other little creatures moving here and about.It sounded like their house was in the midst of a forest,but,it was only by a nearby park.
"Akhira!"her father called out knocking on her door"Akhira!!"he called and knocked louder.
"Huh?"she snorted and smacked her lips "Ba?"she opened her eyes full.
"Akhira,please tell me you're close to getting ready for school"he sighed
"SCHOOL!!!?"she freaked out and fell off her bed,hitting her butt hard on the floorboard."Ow,ow ouch"her father barged into the room.
"Akhira you're horsing around...yet again"
"Ba"she smiled"Not really....not even close,i was just caught unaware"she gets up with his help"I'll get ready now.sorry"he shakes his head sideways and walked out of the room.she sighed."school?"she looked at her calender behind the door and walked to it.
"school?"she picked up a red marker and crossed over friday"just today,i can bear it"she exhales.
"Hello six cruel hours of my life"she said to herself and faces the school already packed with students.

"Everyone open to Chapter 3,page 45 in your text books,and,you'll be able to see that..."
"Psst....psst....Akhira"a girl sitting next to Akhira called"i heard about your fight yesterday"she whispered
"Oh really Clara?"she said coldly her eyes glued to the teacher in front
"Akhira....."
"Clara do you have anything to say to the class"the whole class faced her and she sinked in embarrassment "Get up"the teacher commanded firmly.
"Uh...um...um..."she stands and trembles
"Just like i thought"the teacher hissed and Akhira rolled her eyes.
