Chapter 259 - Chapter 259

The story is clichéd but also very real.

A severely injured demon from another world crashed onto a primitive planet devoid of civilization, inhabited only by semi-intelligent beasts.

The impact of the massive tree breaking through the atmosphere triggered the planet's first mass extinction. The planet's original continents were reshaped by the powerful collision into a new configuration.

Scattered across vast oceans were countless islands. The demon known as Greenfield, heavily injured, fell into a deep slumber. Her roots began to grow, spreading across the world.

Fragments of the shattered continents were connected by sprawling roots, forming a new landmass—the Red Line. This new geography created new environments, including the birth of the Calm Belt.

From then on, the Red Line and the Calm Belt divided the world into five parts: the Four Seas and the Grand Line sandwiched between them.

The formation of this new world brought new powers. Greenfield, the Demon Tree, absorbed the planet's essence during her slumber to recover. During this process, she produced fruits imbued with demonic and planetary energy, which scattered across the world.

These fruits introduced extraordinary possibilities. A monkey that found one of these uniquely patterned fruits gained intelligence and led its tribe down the path of evolution.

In the deep seas, life forms closer to the Demon Tree experienced significant changes. Some fish grew enormous, while others developed intelligence. On the surface, some species also received blessings and embarked on new journeys.

As time passed, civilizations began to emerge in this once-primitive world. With intelligent species and cultural development, combined with Greenfield's extraction of the planet's essence, the planet itself gained consciousness.

Reacting instinctively, the planet began to resist. The ocean cursed all life carrying demonic energy.

Thus, the world's development continued under this new paradigm, evolving over time to reach the present day.

Squatting on the ground, Greenfield looked pitifully at the people surrounding her.

"I was caught in a spatial turbulence during interdimensional teleportation and ended up here," she explained, her voice laced with grievance. "I barely escaped the turbulence with severe injuries and found this uncivilized planet to recover."

"Even though I'm a demon, you can't discriminate against me! I'm a plant goddess and very gentle!"

Hiroshi turned to Zhongli, his face full of questions. Zhongli crossed his arms and scrutinized the cowering Greenfield, his expression equally puzzled.

Carefully sensing her aura, Zhongli admitted, "She's not lying. As the God of Contracts and Commerce, I can confirm this."

"If she's truthful, then…" Zhongli looked down at the dissipating malice emanating from the earth and narrowed his eyes. "This world's condition may be their own doing."

"Well, I'm partly to blame," Greenfield admitted sheepishly, raising her hand. "Although I'm a plant goddess, I'm still a demon and contain demonic energy."

"While I was severely injured and producing Devil Fruits, I couldn't process the demonic energy properly. This caused it to seep into the fruits."

Seeing the group's focus shift back to her, Greenfield quickly waved her hands. "But the fruits don't have any guiding power. They only amplify personal emotions. For instance, someone who eats a Flame Fruit might become a bit more passionate or fiery in temperament. That's all!"

"Just as there are good and bad demons, there are good and bad humans," she added, pointing at Hiroshi and the others. "Humans are often worse than demons. Most are fickle, weak-willed, and unable to control their desires."

"But we demons!"

Lifting her head proudly, Greenfield declared, "We have various desires, but we're determined. Once we set a goal, we won't give up easily and can control our urges."

"So, the world's current state is largely humanity's fault," she concluded with a huff, glancing at her former resting place with annoyance.

"There used to be someone sitting on my hair all the time, blocking my connection to the outside world. Otherwise, I would've awakened sooner," Greenfield muttered. "This place is too barren. It barely allowed me to stabilize my injuries, let alone fully recover."

"But that human sat on my head daily, stealing my power while I was in a deep slumber. The most absurd part? She wasn't even a semi-divine being and still tried to replace me!"

"The people of this world are utterly outrageous," Greenfield grumbled. Her initial fear faded as she began ranting, sitting cross-legged with an exasperated look.

"After absorbing that presumptuous individual, I learned about this world's situation," she said. "These humans are more demonic than we demons. They've done things even we wouldn't consider."

Looking at the dense malice lingering in the sky, Greenfield shook her head in disdain.

"This environment disgusts even me as a demon," she said. "If the angels in Heaven saw this, Gabriel would blow the horn of judgment to cleanse this world."

"The angels in Heaven are far harsher than us demons," she continued. "Especially the Tenka family—their angels are terrifying. They're practically demons with angel wings."

"That family's angels are the exact opposite of the Tsukinoses from Hell. Sometimes I think the two families should switch places."

"Tenka? Judgment horn?" Hiroshi murmured, rubbing his chin as he looked at the demon who seemed anything but demonic. The names she mentioned felt oddly familiar.

Exchanging glances with Ruri Gokou beside him, they both recalled Vignette and Satania from another world.

Could this eccentric demon come from their Hell?

Quickly opening the chat group, Hiroshi privately messaged Gabriel.

Hiroshi: Gabriel! Does Heaven have a family called Tenka? Is Vignette's family Tsukinose?

Gabriel: Huh? Why are you asking?

Gabriel: But yes, Lafiel's family is Tenka, and Vignette's is Tsukinose.

Hiroshi: Oh no. I'm doomed.

Gabriel: What happened?

Hiroshi: I captured a demon in Admiral Kizaru's world. She's from your world—Vignette's hometown.

Gabriel: WHAT?!

Hiroshi: Anyway, now that her origin is confirmed, I'll handle things from here. Bye.

Facing the innocent-looking Greenfield, Hiroshi turned to the group.

"So, in the end, the root of evil isn't demons but uncontrolled human desires and malice," he said.

"We can't defeat this boss right now. We'll need to consult Admiral Kizaru and others for the next steps."
