Chapter 68 - Chapter 68

A new day arrived with the morning light.

"Good morning!"

Opening the door, Hiroshi greeted Lumine, who was passing by in her pajamas. Then, he and Kuroneko stepped out of their room.

Lumine, used to this routine, yawned and scratched her neck, walking slowly downstairs. Last night, she had stayed up late learning from Infinite's livestream, aiming to fully understand and control her new power—spiritual energy.

Since deciding to help Riku, Lumine had taken up residence at Hiroshi's house for convenience.

Hiroshi knocked softly on Klee's door before stepping inside. Seeing Klee still sleeping restlessly, he smiled, walked over to the window, and pulled back the curtains.

With the curtains drawn open, the previously quiet room filled with the morning's lively sounds. The newly risen sun cast a golden light across the room, accompanied by the delightful sound of birds singing.

From behind, Klee stirred awake. Hiroshi turned to see her sitting up, cuddling a plushie. He smiled and said, "Good morning, Klee."

Klee, dressed in her panda-themed pajamas, rubbed her eyes and greeted Hiroshi. "Good morning, Brother Hiroshi."

Leading Klee downstairs after washing up, Hiroshi greeted Vanir and Riku, who were already at the dining table. "Good morning."

"Good morning!"

Riku lifted his head from the book he was reading and returned Hiroshi's greeting with a smile.

Vanir, after taking a sip of milk, looked carefully at Hiroshi. A moment later, he smiled. "Hiroshi, you've changed a lot overnight. Although you haven't grown significantly stronger, I can sense that your future path has become clear."

Hiroshi nodded and sat next to Vanir, expressing his gratitude. "Yes, I've finally planned my future path. It's all thanks to Infinite and your guidance."

Feeling the power beginning to harmonize within him, Hiroshi glanced at Kuroneko, who was laughing with Klee in the kitchen, and smiled softly. "Now, I feel much more confident about the mission coming up in a month's time."

Watching the white cloud leave once again, Kuroneko held Klee's hand and walked towards the bamboo forest, with two hungry little beasts trailing behind them. Beside her, a new magic book floated, and Vanir's livestream began again.

The white cloud soared across the Mondstadt skies, clearing threats on the ground below over time. With the recent turmoil, Mondstadt had grown increasingly dangerous, but the city's stability was quickly restored over the following month.

Amber glided in the sky, scanning every suspicious spot on the ground below. As the finest reconnaissance knight of Mondstadt's Knights of Favonius, Amber had spent most of her time recently ensuring Mondstadt's safety after the recent series of events. She would then compile all her findings and report to Acting Grandmaster Jean.

Recently, large groups of monsters that had gathered in Mondstadt were swiftly being eliminated. After reporting to Jean, Amber learned that the two honorary knights and their friends had taken on the task of eliminating Mondstadt's threats. Amber also noticed that her predecessor, Diluc, was also dealing with various monster gatherings.

Boom!

A loud explosion suddenly came from the distance, followed by a powerful shockwave that pushed Amber back.

Regaining her balance, Amber adjusted her posture and quickly flew towards the source of the sound. The last time she heard such an explosion was when Dadaupa Gorge and Starsnatch Cliff were destroyed.

"Roar!!!"

A massive creature, encased in rocky armor, roared towards the sky. Looking at the small silver-haired figure before it, the creature clasped its hands together, its yellow-glowing body leaping towards the sky, ready to strike.

Riku hovered in the air, watching as the Stonehide Lawachurl approached. A small magic circle appeared beneath him, and his body flickered higher into the sky.

Looking down at the massive crater created by the Stonehide Lawachurl's attack, Riku clasped his hands together.

Wind quickly gathered, forming a giant wind spear in front of him. Several magic circles flashed across the spear, enhancing it with effects like penetration, speed, bleeding, and slow. In an instant, the spear struck the Stonehide Lawachurl.

"Awooo!"

With a painful roar, the Stonehide Lawachurl grabbed the spear lodged in its leg and crushed it with its massive hand, letting the shattered wind energy dissipate. Yellow light flashed across its body, and its broken armor began to mend.

Though the glow from its body dimmed slightly, the Stonehide Lawachurl glared at Riku standing in the sky, opening its hands. Stones quickly formed in its grip.

With a roar, it threw the rocks, each resembling missiles, towards Riku in the sky. The incoming boulders formed a barrage that left Riku with nowhere to escape.

Riku extended his right hand, palm facing the Stonehide Lawachurl below. Ignoring the approaching stones, a blue magic circle formed in front of him, instantly expanding to envelop the sky.

"Wind Domain!"

As Riku spoke, everything within the magic circle was reduced to dust under the blue light.

Not far away, Hiroshi watched the Stonehide Lawachurl disintegrate into a mix of blood mist and stone fragments. He smiled and waved at Amber, who was descending from the sky, then looked at the small monsters that were trying to flee. He stepped lightly, and his new power activated.

"Five Elements Rotation."

The ground rippled like waves, and an earth-made surge struck the hundreds of fleeing monsters. Like leaves caught in a torrent, they fell silently and were buried deep within the earth. New trees quickly sprouted and grew on the bare soil, transforming the area into a lush forest.

Feeling the power within him, now fully harmonized compared to before, Hiroshi smiled and opened his updated attribute panel.

Harmonized power was incomparable to the previously scattered energies.

Walking over to Hiroshi and Lumine, Riku smiled at the mission indicator that showed their task was complete.

It had already been a month. Riku, apart from checking in on plans at specific times, spent the rest of his time in Teyvat learning and increasing his power. According to the latest information, both the Gremlin and Forest Spirit factions had started taking action. It was time.

Looking up at the blue sky, Riku took a deep breath. Today was the last day of July.

"Next comes game time."
