Under the amber glow of the evening sky, young Xiaomi raced across the field, her tiny legs pumping furiously as she chased after Five-Element Pearls, Hinata, and Luo Xiaohei.
"Don't run! Xiaomi's going to catch you all and eat you up!" she shouted gleefully.
"Not a chance!" came the laughter-filled reply, as the open field rang with the joyous cries of the children at play.
Sitting nearby, Borsalino leaned back comfortably, his legs crossed as he lazily popped a peanut into his mouth.
"Such lively little ones," he remarked with a grin.
"Indeed," Zhongli replied, seated beside him in his customary composed manner. He delicately sipped from a teacup, his hand lightly caressing the smooth ceramic surface. Looking out towards the horizon, where the sun was beginning its descent, he said softly, "Have you made up your mind?"
Borsalino's eyes flickered open slightly, glancing at Zhongli's serene profile before he chuckled and shook his head.
"Oh, come now, old friend. I'm but a humble Navy man who clocks in and out on time. What decisions could an old soul like me have to make?"
"I see," Zhongli responded, his golden gaze lingering on Borsalino's face for a moment before returning to the horizon. "If the time ever comes when you do decide, I shall be here, quietly watching."
Borsalino laughed, raising his teacup in a mock toast before downing its contents. As the sun continued its slow descent, its fiery hues mingling with the encroaching blue of night, he mused quietly to himself.
"Such a sharp old fox. But perhaps it is time for me to act," he murmured with a wry smile, his thoughts turning inward.
Behind him, Hiroshi's voice rang out cheerfully.
"Alright, alright! Enough pondering, old man. The ceremony's about to begin!"
With a flourish, Hiroshi approached, balancing a platter of dishes. Borsalino's lips twitched into a smile as he remarked, "You know me so well, don't you? Fine, let's go."
At the grand platform adorned with white roses, Hyozaburo stood awkwardly, staring out at the crowd gathered before him. His nerves were evident as he faltered, unsure of what to say.
"My dear," Wuwei whispered gently, her elegant dress gleaming faintly under the twilight. She leaned in close, brushing her hair aside as she prompted, "Thank everyone for attending our daughter's engagement ceremony."
Snapping out of his stupor, Hyozaburo flushed slightly before speaking into the microphone.
"Thank you all for coming to celebrate my daughter's engagement to her fiancé!"
Below the stage, Hirphon watched the scene unfold with a furrowed brow, sipping his tea thoughtfully.
"I'll never understand how someone like Hyozaburo ended up with Wuwei," he muttered under his breath, shaking his head.
Beside him, Yunyun filled his teacup, looking curious.
"Father, were you close with Aunt Wuwei and Uncle Hyozaburo?" she asked.
Hirphon's expression darkened slightly as he recalled.
"Back in school, our relationship was much like yours and Megumin's. Wuwei was incredibly talented and beautiful, admired by many. But for reasons I'll never fathom, she chose to marry that blockhead Hyozaburo."
He sipped his tea bitterly, adding, "Even now, after all these years, he's still causing trouble for her and their children. But I'll say this—Megumin is lucky to have found someone like Satou Kazuma, who truly values her."
Onstage, Kazuma held Megumin's hand tightly as they faced Wuwei and Hyozaburo.
"Father, Mother," he said solemnly, "please rest assured. I promise to dedicate my life to protecting Megumin and bringing her happiness."
Hyozaburo's eyes filled with tears as he placed his hands on Kazuma's shoulders.
"Take care of my daughter. She has endured so much hardship because of me. I'm entrusting her to you now."
Kazuma bowed deeply.
"I will, Father. I swear it."
With the formalities concluded, Wuwei and Hyozaburo descended from the stage, leaving the spotlight on Kazuma and Megumin. Wuwei glanced at Hirphon and offered a soft smile.
"It's been a while, Hirphon."
He huffed, his face a mixture of irritation and resignation.
"I still don't get what you saw in him," he grumbled, nodding toward Hyozaburo.
Wuwei chuckled lightly.
"Perhaps it's something only love can explain."
Under the starlit sky, Kazuma and Megumin exchanged vows, their fingers entwined as their rings caught the soft light. The gathered crowd erupted into applause, their cheers echoing into the night.
From his seat, Emiya Shirou nudged Kamijou Touma.
"Well, it looks like we're the last ones left who are still single," he said, smirking slightly.
Touma choked on his food at the comment, recalling certain recent events involving Misaki Shokuhou.
"Seems so," he mumbled.
As the couple embraced, fireworks lit up the sky, casting vibrant hues across the village. The stars seemed to dance in celebration as the night became a radiant spectacle, ushering in a bright new chapter for Kazuma and Megumin.
