"Is he dead?" "I don't think so."
Jack heard murmurs through his sleep. "Did someone save me?" he wondered as he opened his eyes.
"The prince… the prince opened his eyes!" a boy sitting next to the bed cried out loud.
In a few minutes, the bedroom door opened. An old man with a beard entered the room and carefully examined Jack.
"It's a miracle… He's back to normal. In a few days, he will fully recover," the old man told the boy.
The boy thanked him and sent the old man away. "Third Prince… can you hear me?" the boy asked Jack.
"Prince? Third? Who? Me?" Jack asked, confused.
"Yes, Third Prince. Have you lost your memories?" The boy started to panic.
"I need some rest. Can you leave the room for a bit?" Jack asked.
"Yes, Prince," the boy replied, turning to leave. The door closed behind him.
"What is happening?" Jack wondered. Suddenly, a strong headache overwhelmed him, and he became unconscious. Memories started to flood into Jack's mind.
"Lucas, Third Prince, Reed Royal Family."
In a few minutes, Jack understood that he had transmigrated to a different world. "So, I died," he realized.
Now, he had transmigrated into the body of the Third Prince of the Reed Royal Family, who ruled the kingdom of Iris. His name was Lucas Reed, a 15-year-old boy. His mother had died while giving birth to him. He had two older brothers and one younger brother. His father had three wives; he was the son of the second wife. His eldest brother was born to the first wife, and the other two were born to the third wife. After his mother died, Lucas lived a lonely life in the palace, taken care of by servants. Growing up without love, he worked hard to gain his father's acknowledgment. He had physical strength that other kids his age didn't have, which made his brothers dislike him. The first and third queens saw him as a threat because of his abnormal strength.
Lucas had suddenly fallen ill a few days ago and died, leading to the soul swap with Jack.
This new world was called Aetheria, a medieval magical world where magical creatures and aura users existed. In this world, people with aura roots could awaken a power called aura, which enhanced human physical abilities and more. Aetheria was a mystical world where the very air was infused with a magical substance known as Aether. This substance was the source of all aura powers, flowing through everything from the tallest mountains to the deepest oceans.
At age 16, kids would be tested by an aura crystal to see if they had aura roots. If they did, the crystal would shine when touched. After practicing aura breathing and meditation techniques, they could awaken their aura. There were eight elemental aura types, each with a different color:
Fire: RedWater: BlueAir: Light BlueEarth: BrownWood: GreenLightning: YellowLight: WhiteDark: BlackJack opened his eyes. "Interesting," he thought. "Aura… If I can practice that, I will become powerful and respected."
In three days, he would be tested to see if he had aura roots.
He got up from the bed and carefully looked around. It was a big room, and he was lying on a bed in the middle of it. He walked to the large mirror on the side of the wall.
"Ha ha ha, at least this time I'm not ugly," Jack said, touching his face while looking in the mirror. In the mirror, a handsome youth with black hair and red eyes stared back at him. He had a cold, scary look because of his red eyes. He had a decent body for a 15-year-old.
"In my new memories, Lucas worked and practiced hard. How did he become ill suddenly? He has a good body for a kid his age. Was he poisoned?" Jack wondered. "If someone tried to kill him, they might try to kill me again. Ha ha ha, let's see who's going to die in the end."
"Now, I am Lucas Reed, the Third Prince of Iris."
