I stood there next to my older Sister, Lauren, her long black hair flowing gracefully in the wind. I Weaved through the legs of adults and those standing in the way, and then I found my school friend Tobias. Tobias was standing there, his casual clothes tattered from presumably work, but his hair left unscathed, seeming to be of importance to him.
"Hey Tobias!"
He replied Softly "Oh H-hi, Silas, Its quite an Exciting Duel Isn't it"
I replied enthusiastically "Yeah it is, Its really cool seeing Wizards Duel!"
The 2 Wizards seemed to be dueling intensely, Their Robes Dancing in the wind their powerful spells caused. Tobias's Black hair Drifted in the wind, My Dark Blue hair would be blown back via a powerful spell that was fired by one of the wizards, the wizards seemed to be Intermediate at best. The 2 Wizards were going toe for toe until one of them Shouted "Howling Winds", The wizards wand Glowed at its tip, before firing off a powerful Gust of wind at the opposing Wizard knocking the man of his feet. The Crowd was met with powerful winds as multiple hats flew off, and myself nearly fell over, due to being a small 8 year old.
I seemed to of hit my head as the next thing i remember is being woken up to the sound of Laurens voice. She said something along the lines of "Hey, get up Silas, We have Work to do!" I can't really remember. In about 20 minutes I was up and ready for work. Me and Lauren Went Downstairs where our father Patrick, Greeted us with a warm and gentle smile, the stubble around his chin seemed fresh, maybe he had shaved that day. Anyways, he gave us our lunch for the day, and me and Lauren Headed off to work. After walking down a few roads, we arrived at 'Mickeys Milk Farm'.
As we entered the door, we were met with the familiar smell of soot, due to Mickeys fireplace constantly burning. He walked up to us, with a Firm smile with his grey beard left uncared for and long dangling onto his old and ripped leather jacket that seemed to of seen better days. He then said "Hello, Right on time, the herd gave us a ton today, so that means you will be getting payed 5 kon more" We smiled awkwardly at him, we always felt offput my Mickey. We then walked into the Storage room and took our first lot of Milk bottles.
I then Split ways with Lauren, as Most of my Addresses were on the other side of our Town called Kordich. I was walking down the road. I noticed My current Delivery was for 'Grumpy Gerrard', Hes known as 'Grumpy' Because he never showed his face in town, no one has ever seen his face, and his voice sounded angry with a hint of sadness. I walked up the steps towards his Green door. His house was disturbing to say the least. All of the windows were boarded up, not letting a trace of light in. I then knocked on his door, I expected no difference from every other time where he would say something like "Leave it outside the door", But as in knocked, the door slid open, creaking as it did.
I stood there, not knowing what to do, but my curiosity got the better of me. I entered into the room slowly, I couldn't see a thing. The Orange Agate stone Necklace that was hung around my neck. Started to vibrate, not much, but there was nothing to cause it. I was offput by the sudden vibrations of my necklace. But I advanced, walking further into the house, it was dark and I could see a few meters in-front of me. I felt the something gaze upon me, I turned to look back quickly, but the door was not there, There was no turning back. I then felt my eyes close, as I slowly lost consciousness.Â
I then awoke. I was standing in-front of what seemed to be a knights silhouette. It loomed over me momentarily, as it then moved. Raising a unidentifiable weapon. As it then slashed towards me. I could not move so I accepted that I was not going to leave this place unscathed. After what felt like a Eternity, I saw a blinding light, as I re-awoke in the room.
I felt something move towards me. I turned and saw a figure. He was tall and bulky, dressed in a yellow tunic and brown trousers, with a calm and genuine smile on his face. "W-Who are you?" I stammered, trembling. The man looked at me, confused, and asked, "My name is Gerrard. We've spoken multiple times before."Â
I took a step back in shock and asked, "So why don't you show your face?" I spoke in a questioning tone. He paused for a moment before replying, "Because if I look at someone else, they take the wizard trials early, and most don't survive. I'm surprised you did. However, now you'll need to get yourself a wand, which is a challenge in its own right"
He reached into the pocket of his brown trousers and pulled out a medium-sized silver wand. Holding it up, he said, "Reveal the world unseen to those who are not worthy." As he spoke, the wand glowed, and the entire room was illuminated. To my surprise, the room was well-furnished and brightly lit, completely different from what I had assumed it would look like from the outside. Realizing this was some kind of spell, I asked, "Are you a wizard?" In hindsight, it seemed like a foolish question. He replied in a cheerful, almost mocking tone, "Of course I am." I then sat down, waiting for Gerrard to tell me more about magic and other wonders.
