Sakura had always believed in the ordinary. Life was a predictable sequence of events—school, friends, study, repeat. She had never asked for more. But life had a funny way of flipping the script when you least expected it. And death? Death was the cruelest twist of all.
The last thing she remembered was the blinding light of an oncoming truck. The screeching of tires, a piercing pain in her chest, and then, nothing. The void had come quickly, swallowing her whole as she faded into the darkness. She didn't even have time to process what was happening before everything went silent.
But she wasn't gone.
Sakura had thought, or rather, hoped, that death would be her final release. But instead, she found herself in an empty, featureless space. She couldn't move, couldn't speak. It felt as though her very soul was held in suspension, hanging by some invisible thread. The sense of weightlessness was suffocating, yet eerily peaceful.
Then came the voice.
It was mocking, cold, and as if it came from nowhere and everywhere all at once.
"Well, well, well... what do we have here?" The voice trailed off in an amused tone. "A young soul, full of promise, or perhaps not. Hard to say."
Sakura blinked, trying to focus, but there was nothing to focus on. Only the presence of the voice, speaking to her in a way that sent a chill down her spine. She tried to speak, but no words came out.
"Ah, I see. You can't speak, can you?" the voice continued. "That's to be expected. After all, you're not exactly in your body anymore."
Sakura's heart—or what remained of it—sank. This wasn't just some odd dream. This was something far more unnatural.
"You're dead," the voice said flatly, as if it were the simplest statement in the world. "And before you start begging for mercy, know that I'm not here to grant wishes. I'm just here for... entertainment."
Sakura's mind raced. She was dead. The life she had lived, the friends she never really had, the future she never saw, were all gone. But why was she still here? Why was this strange voice speaking to her as though she had some choice?
"You've been chosen," the voice continued, the amusement still apparent. "Chosen for a little... experiment. I have a habit of tossing souls into other worlds, just to see how they fare. You'll get a chance to start over—live a different life. A better one, maybe?"
The words hung in the air like a terrible promise. Sakura's thoughts scrambled. She wanted to scream, to protest, to demand to go back to her old life, but there was no time, no way. She had no body, no voice. All she had were her thoughts, and even they felt like whispers in the vast emptiness.
The voice didn't pause, as though it could read her mind. "No, you won't get to go back. Not this time. But don't worry, I've arranged something... special."
Sakura's head swam with questions. "Who are you?" she thought, but no sound left her. The answer was chilling in its simplicity.
"I am the Random Omnipotent Being," it said, as if that explained everything. "I don't really care about your petty concerns, but I'll tell you this: you won't remember much of your old life, not at first. But you'll be given something... something you'll need to survive in the world I've placed you in."
And then, before she could process what was happening, there was a surge of power—a strange energy pouring into her, filling the empty space where her soul once was. It burned, searing through her very essence, reshaping her, changing her. She felt herself being remade into something... different.
"I'm not the only one in charge here," the voice murmured, its tone suddenly serious. "You'll find yourself in the world of vampires. It's a dangerous place, filled with creatures who are both beautiful and deadly. But you're not like them. No, I've given you a gift—a unique power."
Sakura's mind struggled to keep up with the rapidly shifting revelations. Vampires? What was this world she was being sent to? And what power?
"You'll be able to control vectors," the voice explained, as though it were stating something trivial. "For now, think of it as controlling the paths of energy, matter, and even force. You'll be able to change the course of things, but... it's not as special as you might think. It's a rare power among your kind, but it's just another gift."
Of course, there was always a catch.
"Your thirst for human blood will be... overwhelming," the voice said, its amusement creeping back in. "A dangerous weakness. You'll have to learn control, or it will control you. But that's part of the fun, isn't it? Watching you struggle to survive in a world that wants to tear you apart."
Sakura's heart—if it could still be called that—raced as the voice's words sank in. She was to be sent into a world of vampires, armed with terrifying powers and an insatiable thirst for blood. A world where survival wasn't guaranteed. Was this really what awaited her?
Before she could answer her own questions, the voice spoke once more. "Oh, and one last thing. You won't be alone. You'll find your mate there. But it won't be like you expect. The body you'll inhabit... Well, let's just say, there wasn't a bond before. There will be now, though. And it'll be stronger than you think."
And just like that, the void seemed to collapse around her. Everything went black once again.
