Freya's POV
The air was thick with tension as I was driven forward by the warriors encircling me. Their frigid stares and harsh faces gave little comfort. My hands were bound, though I had no thoughts of running. I had come here freely, knowing this was my only way to answers. But now, standing at the doorway of their camp, my heart beat with anxiety.
The camp was larger than I had imagined, with improvised houses and burning flames throwing spooky shadows. Wolves in both human and animal shape prowled the area, their eyes set on me. Their emotions varied from curiosity to apparent hatred. I didn't belong here, and they knew it.
"Move," one of the warriors hissed, nudging me again.
I stumbled but stopped myself, elevating my chin. I wouldn't be afraid. Not right now.
There was a person waiting in the biggest tent. He exuded strength and danger in an overwhelming way. My breath froze in my throat as he moved into the light as I got closer.
