Chapter 1 - chapter 1:The unwanted move

Emily gazed out the airplane window as the Western world gave way to the unfamiliar landscape of South Korea. Her heart felt heavy, weighed down by the secrets and lies that had led her family to this moment. The move was supposed to be a fresh start, but Emily knew better. It was a means for her father to escape the past and maintain his grip on their lives.

As the plane touched down, Emily's thoughts turned to her mother, whom she believed was dead. The pain of that loss still lingered, but she had learned to cope. What she couldn't handle was the constant abuse and manipulation from her father and stepmother.

"Emily, we're here," her father said, his voice gruff as always.

She gathered her belongings and followed him out of the airport, into a world that was both fascinating and intimidating. The neon lights and bustling streets of Seoul overwhelmed her senses, but she steeled herself for the challenges ahead.

Little did she know, this move would set her on a path of discovery, revenge, and ultimately, redemption.

As they made their way through the crowded streets, Emily's mind wandered back to her life in the Western world. She missed her friends, her old school, and the freedom to be herself. But most of all, she missed the memories of her mother, whom she believed had passed away when she was just a child.

Her father's voice snapped her back to reality. "Emily, keep up! We don't have all day."

She quickened her pace, her eyes scanning the unfamiliar surroundings. The sounds, smells, and sights of Seoul were overwhelming, but she was determined to adapt. For her own sake, and for Chris's, her younger brother who was struggling to cope with the move.

Their new home was a sleek, modern apartment in the heart of the city. Emily's stepmother, Rachel, was already there, unpacking boxes and issuing orders to the movers. Emily's father handed her a set of keys. "This is your new room, Emily. Get settled."

The room was small, but it had a window with a view of the city. Emily took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing thoughts. She began to unpack, her mind numb from the long journey and the stress of the move.

As she settled into her new room, Emily's thoughts turned to her future. She would be attending a university in Seoul, studying art to become an entertainer. It was her passion, but she knew her father would never approve. He wanted her to focus on business, to take over the family company one day.
