Chapter 18 - From Freezing Cold To Scorching Heat - 5

The Lords of Creatures are beings of astronomical power, capable of destroying a large part of a human colony or city and giving great difficulty to elemental masters, since they are at the level above power. It was necessary to have two elemental masters to end a powerful Lord. Each of them possesses a specific element of nature, such as fire, water, earth or air. These beings not only dominate their elements like humans, but also have the ability to shape the environment around them to create habitats favorable to them, for hunting and survival.

The Magama Salamander, for example, is a Lord with the element of magma. Its scales are made of solidified magma, and its body emits heat so intense that it can melt rocks and turn the ground into rivers of magma. Wherever it goes, the Magma Salamander alters the landscape, creating volcanoes and fissures that spew magma. Its roar can cause volcanic eruptions, and its presence is enough to turn a small, peaceful region into a blazing inferno.

The Fire Ant Queen, on the other hand, is a lord of pure fire. She commands an army of ants that can dig deep tunnels and create vast underground networks. Her ability to control fire allows her to set forests ablaze and create barriers of flame, making it easier to dig, protect, and expand her territory by rendering the ground barren. But this is no problem for the Queen.

They are powerful and ruthless. Most of them spend their years in solitude, but others are a rare exception, such as the Fire Ant Queen, who has the ability to command fire ants.

The rivalry between the Lords is fierce, each seeking to expand its territory and dominate the other. The scars on the bodies of the two beasts are testament to the countless battles they have fought over the years. The queen bore claw and tooth marks, similar to a salamander. The salamander bore claw marks and ant bites all over its body, showing signs of being well acquainted with the other. When two Lords clash, the impact is devastating, with shockwaves that can be felt for miles.

'I DIDN'T DETECT THE MAGMAA SALAMANDER IN THE CAVE MAPPING! IT WAS SUBMERGED INSIDE THE LAVA!'

'So you've come up with an excuse now.'

'USER SHOULD WORRY MORE ABOUT THEIR ALLY BY THEIR SIDE! INSTEAD OF ENTERING CONFLICT AGAIN!!' Atlas responded to Viktor without understanding what he meant.

'Atlas, what are you talking about...?' Viktor interrupted his thought as he noticed Jonh crouched down, rocking his feet while repeating incessantly.

"I'll be a baker, I'll be a baker, I'll be a baker no matter what, I'll be a baker..." His voice sounded like a scratched record.

Viktor observed in silence for a moment, but the sound of the battle against the two lords, the Fire Ant Queen who was pursuing them, and the Lava Salamander trying to hunt the queen, brought him back to harsh reality.

He quickly approached Jonh, grabbed his shoulders firmly, and tried to shake him to regain consciousness.

"JONH!! WAKE UP JONH!!! I NEED YOU TO COME BACK NOW!!! WE HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE!!"

"Baker, baker, baker, baker, baker, baker, baker, bak..."

Viktor, irritated, slapped Jonh's face, trying to get his attention. Jonh blinked, surprised, and looked at Viktor with a confused expression. He then looked back and saw the two lords fighting fiercely, with the Fire Ant Queen and the Magma Salamander exchanging powerful blows.

John's eyes widened in fear, and he began to shake violently.

"How are we going to survive...?"

"Don't worry, John, I'm with you, we'll make it!!"

John, hearing these words, began to cry, making sobbing noises. Viktor, seeing this, found it strange for the experienced hunter to cry like that, in this situation.

'What did he say?' John thinking

However, John was crying in despair and panic because of Viktor. He was thinking that if he continued with Viktor, he would lose his life. He tried to get up, but realized that he still had a broken leg, covered with smelly animal skin, and he could not move. Viktor, noticing John's expression, felt a chill run down his spine.

Viktor sighed, ignoring the scene in front of him.

"John, don't worry, I have a plan." John was scared and took a deep breath to calm himself.

"What's the plan, kid?" John asked, still scared.

Viktor smiled. "We'll escape while they're fighting."

John froze, his eyes fixed on Viktor as the sound of battle grew louder. He remained silent for a moment.

"THIS IS YOUR IDEA..." John's voice trailed off, his tone laced with disbelief and fear.

He couldn't believe that Viktor's plan was to simply escape while the two lords were engaged in a fierce battle. Before John could continue, the cave began to shake violently, the ground shaking beneath their feet, small cracks forming in the cavern floor.

The sound of rocks falling and hitting the ground made a loud noise, making it difficult for them to hear each other. The other debris fell into the lava, causing more waves and splashes of lava near the two. The battle seemed to be getting closer, and the air was thick with the smell of smoke and sweat from the two permeating their bodies.

The magma salamander roared again, sending out a wave of heat that caused the lava around them to bubble even more. Its scales glowed brightly, nearly blinding Viktor and John with their brightness. The Fire Ant Queen responded with a deafening scream, her sharp mandibles ready to attack. She positioned herself defensively, her antennae moving frantically as she tried to assess the threat.

The salamander advanced, its enormous claws tearing through the lava floor as it moved. The Fire Ant Queen jumped to the side, avoiding the attack and counterattacking with her sharp mandibles. The sound of the clash between the two creatures echoed through the cave, making the walls tremble.

Viktor and John, watching the battle between the salamander and the Fire Ant Queen, were witnessing a clash between two of these powerful beasts. Viktor could feel every inch of his body tense, and John's body couldn't stop shaking with fear.

They remained hidden behind a cluster of rocks, watching the battle between the two lords and the Fire Ant Queen reach its climax. It was at this moment that they had to seize the opportunity to escape while the creatures were distracted.

"We need to get out of here now!!!" Viktor glared at John.

John sighs tiredly. "Okay... but if I fall here, I'll take you with me."

"Just trust me..."

"Kid, just be quiet..." John interrupted him, wanting to immediately leave the battle of titans that was meters away from him.

It was a long shot, but John had no other ideas at the moment. He tried to move silently, pushing through the pain as he put weight on his broken leg. The beasts behind them gave him an incentive to ignore the pain in his leg.

"Let's take advantage of the distraction...!" Viktor insisted, his voice low and urgent.

Cautiously, they began to back away from the battle, staying low to the ground and using the rocks for cover. However, the Fire Ant Queen's keen sense of smell detected the scent of her dead offspring's blood on Viktor's clothes, as well as the strong, nauseating smell of John's leg. She saw the attempted escape and let out a scream of rage. Unfortunately, she was too busy fighting the salamander, which was still hunting. The battle between the two creatures was getting intense, with both launching powerful attacks that shook the cave. The air was thick with the smell of smoke and sweat, and the heat was almost unbearable.

'USER INPUT NEXT LOCATION LOCATED 20M FROM YOUR DISTANCE' Atlas spoke with hope.

"We're almost there.."

Finally, they spotted a small passage that seemed to lead out of the cave. "

"Here's our way out!!" John said, feeling a great relief in his heart.

"Let's go, quickly.." Viktor replied, helping John to move faster.

The Fire Ant Queen, enraged, unleashed a burst of fire, but the magma salamander was ready. With a swift swipe of its lava-covered claws, it struck the queen, wounding her eye and causing chaos in the cave. The exit was blocked, but with a final effort, Viktor and John managed to squeeze through the narrow passage just before it was destroyed.

As they emerged from the passage into another entrance of the scorching cave, they looked back at the cave, now enveloped in a cloud of dust and smoke. The sound of the battle grew fainter, and they knew they had escaped by a hair's breadth.

"That was close!!" Viktor thought to himself, his mind still recovering from the ordeal.

'AFFIRMATIVE!!!' Atlas replied, his voice echoing in Viktor's mind.

John thought. "I never want to be involved with you again, boy! If I continue with him, I'll end up in an even worse situation than today."

He shook his head, trying to clear the dust from his body.

"Well, let's go...!"

He tried to stand up, but his broken leg made it difficult for him to move with ease. He looked at Viktor, expecting him to help him up.

Viktor sighed, noticing Jonh's struggle, and approached him to help him up.

"They can easily destroy…. the wall....." Viktor said, his voice low and tired.

John, hearing this, began to tremble. He knew the boy was right, that the Fire Ant Queen and the Magma Salamander could easily destroy the wall and reach them. He felt a new surge of energy and began to walk faster, using all the strength he had left in his body, wanting to escape from that place as soon as possible.

"Let's hurry, John, we need to get out of this cave while those beasts are busy."

"You think I don't know?!"

Together, they continued to walk, determined to escape the cave and find a safe place, far from the threat of the Fire Ant Queen and the magma Salamander.

As they walked, Viktor couldn't help but think to himself.

"I just hope there's nothing else waiting for us up ahead."

'UNLIKELY USER!!!' Atlas voice echoed in Viktor's mind.

As they walked, the darkness of the cave made it difficult for everyone to see, but they didn't care, behind them it was much worse than the darkness, the heat of the passage was scorching, but the willpower to survive was greater. Walking towards the supposed or miracle of an exit.
