Cristine's POV
In just a second, I had heard the door bang, and then it came to my notice that Logan had taken me outside the hall, away from them.
I had been outside for almost an hour, and Leah hadn't come out of the hall. It didn't go well with me that he had made me stay behind the door, far from their conversations as though I was a stranger, and a spy who shouldn't hear anything about Leah. She was my friend after all.
"Are you waiting for someone?" One of the girls who had been carrying a tray of food to the different halls asked.
"No… Actually, yes. My friend is inside with the mage." I pointed at the door.
"You aren't supposed to be standing here. Come with me."
I followed her into another hall. There, some other people, about fifty, were seated on long chairs, also waiting.
"This is where everyone waits," the girl said. "Do you mind if I served you a drink?"
I nodded.
