It was possible to see the beginning of Pit 34. The car was being driven by Livya, with Gabriel beside her and Naomi lying in the passenger seat. They had returned with the Ravens to their base, resting for only one day before continuing their journey, and there they were, about to complete the way back.
Nahara and Ana were driving a car alongside them and stopped next to the first when a few Ravens came to see who it was. Gabriel saw them approaching with their hands on their revolvers. Strazza was among them. Losing his patience, he stuck his head out and yelled:
— It's me! Gabriel!
Almost simultaneously, they relaxed and came to meet their comrades. Gabriel got out and casually went to talk to them while Livya stayed seated.
— Congratulations on completing your first mission – Naomi said, now sitting up.
— Thanks – Livya replied, placing one arm out the open window and slumping into the seat. She realized how tired she was.
Gabriel returned with the others, who were shocked to see Naomi in such a state. Jonas soon appeared with Will and Susan, the old man leading the group, pale. He approached the group but was completely ignored by the old Raven as he passed by.
— I love you too, Will! – he yelled at the man, who was looking at Naomi with concern.
— Any serious injuries, darling? – Susan asked, carrying a bag full of medicines.
— Nothing to worry about, but I think it's better to check on Naomi, she really got hurt badly this time.
— What happened to you all? – Jonas asked as Susan almost ran off. – Where are Michel, Bia, and Samuel?
Gabriel just shook his head negatively. Jonas seemed on the verge of breaking down with the news, but he managed to keep his head up while listening to the young man's account.
— You all did a lot in one week – he said as Gabriel finished. He looked at the two strange Ravens. – These are the two Sandy sent along, right? – he asked Gabriel, receiving a nod in response. – I'll ask Strazza to take care of the car and I'll give supplies for when you return.
— Good idea, sir.
— You can rest, I'll give the news to Thomas myself. And if Grande Irmão really told the truth about a stormy future, I want all the Ravens prepared.
Jonas ran to join the group surrounding Naomi and talking to her. Gabriel knew his leader well enough to know he had asked her to tell the story again.
— Gabriel!! – Otto shouted, relieved to see him. – I thought you were dead, everyone thought so, they even made bets.
— I won't die that easily. – Gabriel smiled at the news that they had bet, feeling compelled to ask: – What did you bet on?
— That Naomi would arrive alive, but you…
— I get it – Gabriel said, feeling betrayed.
— Tell me, Gabriel! – Otto's eyes gleamed with excitement. – What happened?
— Where do I even begin? – Gabriel asked himself, then proceeded to tell the story with several exaggerations.
