Chapter 1 - Re-Opening of the Incident

After 9:00pm, ABN which stands for Archen Broadcasting Network, one of the prominent TV stations officially closes, even though some of the Anchors are to present news at 10pm, 11pm and even Midnight News which are supposed to be done in the company.

However, due to the current review of the City's rules by the new Mayor, they have to close and continue with the broadcasting at the convenience of their homes for security purposes.

Today happens to be an exceptional day. One of the renowned TV journalist anchors, Miss Hilda who is in her late 20s had taken it upon herself to investigate the issue of an incident that occurred almost a year ago. The incident of an unexpected death which affected the City's security.

She decided to reveal her findings to the general public, live at 11:00pm as it is a convenient time since kids will be asleep and only grown ups will be awake.

Unfortunately, the company had a different agenda and so she couldn't present today. She had to do it tomorrow.

It's quite surprising as no one knew someone will still want to investigate an incident which occured almost a year ago, as more issues rise up daily and need to be addressed by their media.

Fortunately for her, her eloquence, style and natural ability to relate best with her viewers caused many people to be interested in what her findings could be.

Since she couldn't present today, she decided to stay after 9pm for about an hour to clearly arrange her findings as she will be busy tomorrow and might not get time to go through it before presenting.

Little did she know that what she was expecting wasn't going to turn out the way she wanted.

As she was working she forgot to check the time. It was when the clock struck 11:00pm that she remembered she had to go home and no one was left in the company.

She hurriedly rushed to grab her phone and when she did, she realized that was not her phone. It was then she remembered about 6 people including herself used the same phone and she might have unknowingly swapped it one of them. When she tried unlocking the phone, she didn't know the password.

She quickly packed her findings and kept them in her drawer, went out of her office and locked it. When she came out of the company she found only the security who told her she was lucky as he was about to lock the main entrance.

She thanked him and quickly set of to go home, but remembered her house was far from the company.

It was around 11:30 pm by this time and we see her walking on the main road towards the junction that will then lead her to her neighborhood. It was quite unusual as the road seemed strangely empty today.

She walks very fast as it is quite late and constantly checks the time on her watch with every 10 steps she takes since the phone in her hand isn't hers and she can't unlock it to call for help.

As she keeps on moving, she reaches the point where the road splits in to three: one going straight ahead, the other to her left, and the last to her right.

Since she is on the left side of the road she just takes the left curve which doesn't lead to her house. It's quite late so she wants to take refuge at her friend's residence which is in that direction and bit closer.

As she takes the turn, the streetlights in that direction are dimmer as compared to the others she passed by. After taking about 30-40 breathtaking steps while looking left and right, constantly checking the time on her watch, a cool unusual wind blows over her direction and she gasps as she stops, breathing heavily.

She gathers courage and looks around but she finds nothing. She takes the bold initiative to make another step and before her leg could completely move, she felt a presence, something big behind her.

Her eyes widen and her heart thumps faster while her body all of a sudden becomes stationary as she sensed danger. She manages and successfully turns to see what's behind her.

When she turns and sees it, she screams loudly and "Argghhhhhhh!!!!!!!" is all that we hear

***************** NEXT DAY ******************

The bedroom of a supposed couple is shown. A man is found lying on the bed, on his back as the morning sun rises. A woman enters the room, who is presumed to be his wife. She looks at her husband on the bed and smiles.

She then goes towards the window and draws the curtains, allowing more sun rays to enter the bedroom, directly towards the bed. This rays however, dodges her husband.

She finally opens the window and the rays slaps the husband's face. He opens his eyes slightly but closes them again before his wife closes the windows and turns back to look at him. She finds that he hasn't moved so she goes towards him to now wake him up for real.

He was lying on the left of the bed, so she went towards him, bent over him and softly patted his cheek.

"Wake up Honey!" she said softly. He opens his eyes swiftly and pulls her to fall on him.

"Why didn't you come over here to wake me up earlier?" he asks her in a low soft tone as he just woke up.

"So you were awake?" she asks curiously.

"Not really, the beautiful sun woke me up." he replies with a grin.

"Oh! then I really did a good job opening those windows." she answers happily.

"Ahm, the sun I was taking about was you." he added to make her understand.

"Oh really, I thought you never appreciated my shine." she says jokingly.

"Well I'm sorry I didn't." he apologizes.

"Apology accepted." she smiles as she spoke. "And... can you leave me?" she added as he held her while she was on him.

"I don't think so!" he refuses as he tightens his grip on her.

"I have to make breakfast." she demands.

"Yeah, with me." he adds.

"That's only if you let me go and get up to help me in the kitchen." she tells him.

"I don't mean that, I mean with what you are lying on." he replies her, sending that message to her .

"I don't get what you mean cause I have no idea how to make breakfast with your stomach." she answers cheekily, knowing what he means.

"Come on baby, I'll make it quick." he tries persuasion.

"When you say quick you mean 30 minutes?" she teased him.

"You've been timing me?" he asks back.

"No. I just wanna escape." she tells him and breaks free of his grip, running out of the bedroom while smiling.

"Baby!!" he calls and can't stop smiling.

--------------------

He brushes, takes a shower and comes to the sitting room to have his breakfast. He meets her slicing fruits in the kitchen.

(## Their home is in such a way that the kitchen is quite close to the hall and the dining so while in the kitchen, you can see what's going on in the hall, even watch Television. The same applies to the dinning

He goes to her and kisses her cheek. "Good morning!" she responds to his greeting.

"Did I really wake up at 8 cause it's almost 8:30?" he asks.

"I think so." she replies. "But it's quite favourable since you not going to work today." she adds.

"Yeah!" he replies as he poured out coffee into his cup. He moves to the hall, turns on the TV and goes back to the table to get some slices.

[ "One of the renowned young TV journalist, Hilda Greens, has been reported dead. Her lifeless body was found on the 3rd Street, towards the City's Cinema. Doctor's are currently examining her body as they found strange marks on it, which in a way, prove that she wasn't killed by a mere human. While this is on-going, Security is currently investigating to find out if there are any recorded abnormalities or weird marks that really prove that, she wasn't really killed by a human but by a monster, as a famous Doctor said after just looking at her body.

We have with us here, the Managing Director of ABN TV station who also happens to be Miss Hilda's Uncle"

Anchor : Good morning Mr. Greens! We are so sorry for your loss. Hilda was like a great journalist. We are going to miss her. Can you please tell us what happened.

Mr. Greens : Good morning everyone, well... ]

Someone knocks on the door. His wife goes to check who it is while he reduces the TV's volume.

"Hey Sarah!" she calls when she opens the door to meet her next door neighbor.

"Hi Hayley!" Sarah greets back with a weird grin.

"What's up?" Hayley asks, noticing it.

"It's my fault!" Sarah speaks.

"What!" Hayley looks confused, "I don't understand." she adds.

"Look, I know it isn't your fault but I'm sorry!" Sarah apologizes, making Hayley more confused.

"If I knew it would have resulted to this I wouldn't have taken the step." Sarah adds.

"Slow down!" Hayley cautions her, "Start from the beginning."

"It was two days ago, I went to the supermarket to buy some stuffs and when I got there, I realized I hadn't picked up the list I prepared. I was running out of time because I had to go visit my Aunt in Crensy, so I had to just shop randomly. I mistakenly bought jelly instead of jam and when I came home I didn't arrange the stuffs. I just dumped them in the kitchen. When I returned yesterday, I was too tired to arrange stuffs so I slept without knowing when, on the floor. I woke up this morning very late to take breakfast and when I checked it was jelly I bought which I literally hate. So I was wondering if you lend me some jam?" She ends with an intriguing smile.

"You really started from the beginning?" Hayley says softly.

"You asked me to?" Sarah answers.

"Let me grab some for you." Hayley says and goes back inside. She returns with a small jar of jam.

"Thank You!" Sarah appreciates, "If you like I could...."

"Nevermind!" Hayley cuts in before she starts again. Hayley smiles and shuts the door quickly and immediately exhales heavily.

"Who was that?" her husband asks as she walks back.

"Sarah! that nosy nextdoor girl" Hayley replies.

"That explains why you took so long." He adds.

"Yeah! Give her the chance to speak, and she doesn't wanna stop!" Hayley replies as she goes through the shelves. "Oh God!" she sighs.

"What is it?" he asks her.

"We out of milk." she replies.

"I'll fetch some at the supermarket." he says and sets to leave for the supermarket.

--------------------

"He arrives at the supermarket and before he enters he breaths calmly, as if preparing for something. As he opened the door, he closed his eyes tightly.

"Good morning Miss Lucy!" he greets the supposed Cashier, who is the owner at the same time.

"Miss Lucy isn't around." the cashier, Cindy replies.

He breathes cooly as if having escaped from death.

"But she has a message for you." Cindy adds.

"Seriously?" he sighs.

Cindy giggles, "Just Kidding." she replies.

"Good news." he answers.

"But Chase...." she starts to speak.

"Nope! I'm not listening to that, Chase cuts her. My wife's waiting for me at home, I'm kinda in a hurry." he answers and quickly goes to pick the stuffs he came to buy.

He finished in no time and brought them to the cashier, paid and was about to leave.

"Don't tell Miss Lucy I came, please!" He begs her.

She smiles at him, "Trust me Chase, I know how she worries you. I'll be shut!" she assure him.

"Thank you!" he replies and goes out.

--------------------

"You quite early." Hayley says, when Chase returns in less than 10 minutes from the supermarket.

"Ah! let me guess, Miss Lucy wasn't around." She adds with a smile.

"You know it!" Chase compliments and hands over the items to her. She takes it and puts it down. He comes to her side and holds her waist from behind.

"You know what baby?" he says.

"Uh huh!" she replies

"I'm not gonna give up." he says and carries her to the bedroom.

( ## I'm still trying to figure out what they went in there to do - Author's Note ##)
