The preparations for the evening event could be felt with how light music was echoing off from the campus .
People dressed in their best dresses showing off their wealth in their accessories they've adorned their self with.
"Don't tell me you're not coming for the party?"Roy asked slumping on the couch in Damien's room.
Damien's who was drinking a red liquid in a bottle was scrolling through his phone ignored him completely.
"You really won't go ?"Drake probed and Damien muttered "No".
He didn't know why he had to be there.
"But your fa-"Roy began when Damien's phone rang loudly.
He picked it up when he saw the name flashed on it , it was his mother.
He walked to the open windows and stood there looking outside.
"How are you doing son" her concerned voice sounded from the other end .
"I'm fine what about you?"Damien reiterated.
"Not fine because I know you won't be attending the party"she said from the other line .
It might not be a big deal for other family but for Damien's it was better to keep up appearances and appear in front of the camera .
"You know -"Damien tried to find an excuse but she cut him off .
"You'll be attending and it's final" she stated and he sighed .
He couldn't go against her because he loved her so much.
"I'll be watching the event so don't you dare stay in your room " she warned and Damien chuckled.
He removed the phone from his ears and announced, "I'll be going to the party".
Lily knocked on Cora's door to check up on her .
"Are you done ?"her voice sounded from across the door .
"I don't think I can make it Lily my stomach is hurting so badly" she lied .
She always felt bad when she lied especially to someone like Lily but she really didn't want to go.
It would be the perfect time to ward of attention.
Lily nodded and walked out of her room after checking her appearance.
She knew Cora didn't want to go for the opening party .
Luna who hadn't expected detention to be helping out with the arrangements of the party and also serving drinks as servants! Scoffed looking a the sweeping brushin her hands .
Looking at the people she was working with she cursed Roy for punching Cora .
Now that she thought about it , why wasn't that jerk here.
She snorted knowing the answer already , the principal might have let him off because he's some prominent figure's son .
"Aren't you tired ?"she heard and turned to find one of the delinquent student staring at her .
"If I tell you I am will you work for me ? "She snapped and the guy clamped his mouth shut.
He hadn't expected such a feisty woman from such an innocent looks.
Talk about judging a book by its cover .
A woman dressed elegantly for the occasion smiled when she saw all the delinquents working.
"I must say I love your enthusiasm, keep it up and don't cause trouble again and you'll have no problem with me " she said .
She was the person in charge of such matters and Luna could tell from one glance that she was not someone to be trifled with .
The woman scanned each one of them before leaving there.
Several news channels swarmed with their cameras.
This showed how popular Oscar Island University was .
The occasion began with light music being played with all kinds of food available.
Some of the students were being asked how the school had been for them so far and they did well to answer.
Standing at the sides was the principal, Augustine simthon with Mrs Hurdeton.
"Everything seems to be going as planned just like how the higher ups want "Mrs Hurdeton murmured only to Augustine's hearing.
Augustine's eyes scanned the crowd ,"Do you find anyone suspicious among the new students that came?".
Mrs Hurdeton smiled to the camera when it was flashed on her and answered "So far there's none ".
Augustine nodded calling one of the waitress with drinks which was actually Luna for a drink.
Luna gingerly approached the principal with a tight smile and brought the tray down for both Augustine and Mrs Hurdeton to take from before leaving there with a glare .
Luna looked through the crowd looking for her best friend Cora but she was nowhere to be seen.
'Where is she ? ' she thought worried .
She was looking through the crowd when she spotted Roy and his friends dressed nicely in their suits but giving off the bad boy vibes .
"That jerk!" she cursed fuming as she maneuvered her way to where he was .
She could see that a lot of girls were sneaking glances at them .
She couldn't help but notice the intimidating aura around the trio .
They were very good looking and that even irked her more.
She sighed and approached him and intentionally tried to spill the drinks she was holding on him but he moved away causing the drinks to fall on Damien.
Luna swallowed when she saw who she just spilled the drinks on .
She has heard a lot about how ruthless and dangerous Damien was .
"I'm really sorry I didn't intend to-"she blabberd but paused when she felt his cold gaze on her which caused goosebumps on her skin .
This guy truly is scary ! She thought and dashed away .
"Why do I have the feeling that she had intended to spill it on Roy instead but it happened to fall on Damien "Drake muttered and chuckled.
Roy narrowed his eyes looking for Luna in the crowd .
Damien didn't say anything and just left the event, he already didn't want to be there but made sure he appears on camera because of his mother.
Back in the room Cora took a deep breath and took off her mask .
She has been told whiles growing up not to ever look at herself in the mirror but she was going to do that today.
She needed to see how she looked at least.
With that resolve she walked to the bathroom mirror and took off the masks with her eyes closed.
She fluttered her eyes open to catch a glimpse of her face before the mirror shattered into pieces.
Coro gasped shocked.
Meanwhile Damien on the other hand who was making his way to his room heard the shattering of glass with his keen sense of hearing.
He furrowed his brows with his feet taking him to the source of the sound.
