After finally unpacking and settling in , a siren chimed urshering everyone to go to the cafeteria for their lunch .
Cora didn't feel hungry and plus she wouldn't know how to eat in front of so many people. A sound knock was heard on her door and lily's head popped out of the door not long after and she asked " It's time for lunch , won't you get out so that we get to socialize a little?". Cora intentionally coughed and adjusted her nose mask. "I don't think I can , I might infect others"she lied again feeling bad but bit her lip to keep up. Lily just nodded and closed the door. Cora sighed and called Luna, it rang through and she picked it. "OMG ! Where on earth have you been I've been calling you since I don't know but you never answered"Cora yelled into the phone and Luna giggled. "That's because I was preparing a surprise for you"Luna answered and Cora shook her head smiling. "I'm not there anymore , I'm on campus now "she informed already missing everyone. She has already texted her mom but she hasn't replied . Luna didn't say anything again and ended the call. Cora heard her stomach grumble and she held it. How was she going to survive in this school if they all have to eat in the cafeteria. She stood up and took a bottled water from her things she brought and downed it down. Even after finishing about three bottles her stomach didn't stop grumbling and she cursed her fate for sticking her in that mask that covered only the lower half of her face. Her phone dinged and she checked who it was when she saw,
'Meet me at the entrance '- Luna .
''you gonna be kidding me''She squealed and checked it again to make sure she wasn't hallucinating before dashing out of her room.
In the heat of the moment , Cora didn't notice the little commotion that was going on in the hallway leading to the entrance when she stepped right into the scene and the next thing she saw was a punch flying her way which landed beautifully on her mouth bringing the smell of blood to her nostrils. Cora lost her balance and was ready for the ground when a hand caught her . "What a troubled little thing"she heard the person mumble and she opened her eyes to see the darkest eyes she's ever seen, it was like the abyss where anyone could get lost in it . The eyes were so captivating that for a moment there she couldn't breathe until she heard him whisper "Breathe" in her ears before she started panting like a fish out of water . The person held her mask ready to take it off to see the impact of the punch she just received when Cora held his hand and pulled herself from his embrace. She looked around and saw a lot of people staring at her , she gave a quick bow before bolting from there. Her mouth was throbbing and bleeding but she couldn't take of her mask to check because she was not supposed to see her face either. 'What a stupid curse!"she cursed in her head . She spotted Luna waving at her from a distance and rushed to her . She engulfed her in a tight hug Luna smiled and hugged her back. Luna furrowed her brows sniffing the air and murmured "You're bleeding". Cora furrowed her brows pulling back from Luna. 'How did she know 'she thought staring weirdly at her . Luna on the other didn't bother to clarify it and dragged Cora with her. "Who hurt you , gosh I can't believe this I left you for a day and you're already being bullied"Luna exasperated dragging her. She saw the little commotion there and knew that they were the people that had bullied her friend. "Luna it's not what you're thinking it's just a mere coincidence!"Cora quickly explained trying to avoid trouble. Luna sighed at how soft hearted her friend was but she wasn't going to have any of that , she rushed to the middle of the scene and yelled "Who amongst you punched her"she queried glaring at the two guys in front of her . The old students in the school gasped at the audacity of this girl to yell at those two boys.
"She might be a newbie"one whispered to the other and they looked at her pitifully. Luna who was oblivious to who these two really were in the school stood her ground glaring at them.
"I did"confronted one of the guys coming forward. He was tall guy with sharp body features, a well chiseled jawline, a muscled body which was obvious from the way his shirt hugged his body , midnight black hair and a heart shaped lip. Staring at the guy who owned up , 'he's a breath taking figure' she thought but almost immediately her hand landed on his beautifully chiseled jaw and a punch was delivered. People couldn't believe what they just witnessed, even the person that was fighting him not so long ago stood up and scurried away. Everyone knew it was a known fact that nobody touches his face, irrespective of who you are. Cora already predicting how worse the situation would become held Luna and dragged her with all the strength she could master . Everybody quickly scurried away leaving the scene even though they made sure to capture everything on camera. "I'm sure that girl is a newbie, nobody messes with the Alpha three"a girl muttered to her friend and they shook their head in pity. The guy who was punched not so long ago sighed whiles brushing his through his hair. "To think that a girl would be the one to punch my face one day"he mumbled with an irritated expression. "I'm not shocked though , I mean you punched her friend"Damien chuckled. He was leaning against the wall with one leg against the wall whiles he scrolled through his phone. Pushing himself from the wall he began walking away and Roy , the one who was punched not long ago threaded after him.
"You shouldn't have done that" Cora muttered . Luna ignored her and dragged her suitcase, "I'll see you soon , by the way which hostel are you in ?" She queried. Cora sighed and said "Giffan room, 2nd floor". Luna nodded and left . Cora got back to her room and took off her mask , she grabbed the first aid kit and started cleaning her wound . She knew she wasn't supposed to see her face without the mask but wasn't this stressful. She cursed whoever that kept the mask on her and wore it back. She was the only one that could touch the mask , so how did it feel as if that guy from before could also touch it as well. She clearly remembered when Damien touched her mask to check whether she was hurt. 'Maybe I'm over thinking this ' she thought and adjusted it well. Another firm knock was sounded on her door and she popped her head out to see who it was , lily stood there with food in a paper bag. "I hid some food for you since the school is strongly against taking food to the rooms." "Thanks so much " she appreciated this so much . Hardly do people care about her except some selected few. She took it and was about to close the door when lily said "You're trending on the school's entertainment page". Cora's eyes almost popped out , 'oh no'! What happened to her keeping a low profile. Lily handed her phone to her and Cora saw the incident that happened not so long ago , of course it was not the one she was punched but the one that Luna punched that guy. "A lot of people are insulting you guys for what you did to that guy"lily informed and Cora checked the comments section. A lots of people were insulting them, 'But I was the victim ' she thought through clenched teeth. "Those guys are called the alpha three , I think maybe they're some rich men sons"Lily guessed . Cora sighed and gave her phone back to her "I'll go and eat my food". She closed the door and sat on the bed , all I have to do is avoid them .'Yes I'll do exactly that'. With that in mind , she removed the mask and ate her food
