The group trudged ahead, their footfalls echoing off the cavernous hallway of the fortress. Stone walls pulsed faintly with Abyssal energy, giving off an unearthly hum that vibrated through their bones. With each step forward, they felt as though they were being sucked into an unnatural chill, as if malevolence hung in the very air.
Kaelith led the way, her blade at the ready and her sharp eyes scanning the darkness ahead. Ryu followed close behind, Voidfang humming softly at his side as the black shard around his neck pulsed in sync with the fortress's energy. Aris and Draven brought up the rear, their weapons poised for an ambush.
"This place feels. alive," Aris muttered, his voice barely above a whisper.
"It is," Kaelith replied, her tone matter-of-fact. "The Abyss doesn't just corrupt. It consumes and reshapes. We're walking through its veins."
Draven grunted. "Then it's time we put this thing out of its misery."
