The air inside Solhaven felt heavy, almost oppressive. The cacophony of the distant clanging of tools sounded as if it merged conversations, and the strike of blacksmiths' heavy flat on metal and stone, but beneath that busily restrained surface was a tension Ryu couldn't ignore.
"We need to find a secure place to regroup," Draven said, his sharp eyes scanning the crowd. "The last thing we need is trouble.
Kaelith's silver hair caught the light as she nodded, but her gaze lingered in the direction the hooded figure had vanished. "Trouble has already found us. That person knew about the shard—and the Abyss's presence here."
"They could've been bluffing," Aris said, though his hand still hovered near his blade.
"No," Ryu said firmly. "They weren't bluffing. They knew something." His fingers brushed against the shard in his pocket, its cold surface a chilling reminder of the danger they carried.
